With the annual warming trend hours away, I wanted to capture what is probably the last of the ice here in Southern Ontario. Still, it was rather frigid and anyone who tried to sit on this bench, would have definitely succumbed to their "frozen assets"!

Photo is in response to Flickr group Macro Mondays with the challenge to include an object in ice. I selected an Australian $2 coin. The ice block split in half when I ejected it from the ice block maker, but this shot gives some idea of my intention.
I have chosen the name "Frozen Asset" as being appropriate.
After being blocked by CN A407, the DREI 101 got its go-ahead to cross over the shared CN/UP/DREI diamond in Tuscola. Typically, the 101 is powered by some SD45s - derated to 3000hp, they are SD40-2s for all intents and purposes - however today, the leader was an actual SD40-2 with a pretty clean K5. Quite a neat combo these days. Just shooting an SD40 leader is a delight these days in fields of endless widecabs.
WAMX 4134, our leader, has a fairly short history. Built for the Union Pacific as the 3578 in July of 1979, the SD40-2 pulled for the yellow beast up until around 2006. It changed hands to Progress Rail at that point, where it moved around the country for a while before ending up in storage. It appeared under the WAMX reporting mark in 2008, working as a quarry queen for the better part of a decade in Texas. It ventured north to Illinois in 2020, receiving the WAMX black and gold in 2021, and now lives on the DREI.
The 101, from Decatur to Chrisman, is a pretty nice chase. Always a good time heading down to go after it.
Was blessed to receive a call from Tanner (Detroitika) a couple weeks ago asking for requested Brickarms molds in Sand Red. Chose the HLC without hesitation and threw this guy together at the con.
Dune Grass catches a breeze on a foggy and overcast day at the beach. It's been a bummer of a week here for those who rented vacation cottages along the ocean. Nothing but Rain, Fog, and overcast the entire week. Hope your weekend is good.

On Easter Sunday 2009, a light engine move en route to Browns yard rolls over the Gillespie Branch. Still sporting Conrail blue, Norfolk Southern EMD GP38-2 no. 5277 and CSX EMD GP40-2 no. 4428 lead CSX EMD SD40-2 no. 8813 through Sayreville.
Conrail Shared Assets WPCA-20 shakes the windows along 3rd Street in Moorestown, NJ on a daily basis. In fact, it is the only train to shake the windows here anymore.
Newly refurbished ARRIVA Buses Wales VDL Pulsar 2654 - CX07 CUH is pictured in Bodelwyddan on route 51 to Denbigh (Lenten Pool). All seven of Rhyl's Pulsars scheduled to receive the MAX treatment have now been dealt with, and logos and branding are due to be applied by the beginning of next week.
Rebuilt EMD SD30C-ECO 1707 and standard SD40-2 8828 had Conrail Shared Assets train CA-11 northbound at Five Points, New Jersey under blue skies.
1707 was originally a Seaboard Coast Line SD40-2 while the 8828 was built for Conrail.
