Two siblings sleeping, tired from a day's work in RL. Precious moments that I can share with my brother. We talk, we share words of comfort and a hug to go to sleep RL.
I found Sethi on Cleo's cat house on the porch this afternoon. He was fast asleep and I managed exactly one photo before he woke up, noticed the camera and turned his back on me.
This week's theme of the Happy Caturday group is "Autumn and my cat" and here is Tofu, taking a nap next to an Autumn leaf. When he sleeps, he sleeps hard and won't even wake up if you put a leaf on his head for a photo ! :) Happy Caturday !
It isn't obvious from my choice of photos for this week, but Bella is sometimes awake! Because of the heat she doesn't sleep on my lap so much at the moment. She enjoys sleeping on her cardboard scratcher even though it looks uncomfortable.

You spot a couple of Spoonbills (the bird with the almost crazy long spectacular black beak) in a lake and it's click., click., click! Spoon's with their enormous beak's open., Spoon's splashing around., Spoon's (a lot of the time) asleep. Then chaos! the alarm bell rings., there is a Raptor around and every bird in the lake simultaneously takes to the air., including the Spoons! providing a perfect (and for me first time opportunity) to get these outrageous birds in flight at a reasonable distance! Sometimes (for a change) things do fall your way!
Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides)
Dad sitting proud on the nest this morning. I had hoped that today would be the day I got a first glimpse of the chicks but that will have to wait. The guy that lives across from the nest is pretty sure there are two chicks.
one of the things that made me happiest about this image, aside from seeing this barred owl seemingly undisturbed in its slumber, was that I could see buds on trees already set for Springtime ! In mid December, that is a cheery and promising sight to see :-)
These adorable furry creatures are native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. They inhabit forested areas, particularly where there are steep slopes with dense bamboo cover, close to water sources. They are well adapted to climbing and tend to be solitary animals, spending much of their time asleep in the trees.
They are now listed as Endangered. It is estimated there are only 2,500 to 10,000 left in the world, living in the wild. As with many such animals, loss and fragmentation of habitat and poaching are the chief causes of their recent surmise. Needless to say, they are red in more ways than one!

First frames from a newly-acquired Kyocera lens for the rather neglected Yashica AF SLR system. Much to my pleasure, it's image quality is right up to the high standard set by it's peers.
