The beautiful bride is saying bye-bye to her ancestors giving them notice that she will leave her family to getting married and joining into her husband's family. The husband, here behind the bride is being introduced to her ancestors. The local pemangku (priest) is presiding the ceremony which is held in the private altar compound of the bride's family.

Here is a recent image from Farha and Swapnil's walima held in Delhi. Conversation with Swapnil during the discussions stage was probably the shortest we have had with clients in a while. I think Swapnil decided to go ahead with us with five minutes of brief conversation. We mostly discussed our style of shooting, how we use flash, our capabilities to shoot in ultra low light. Being a photographer himself he could relate to the discussion and our tech talks
"I am a little shy and do not like to get photographed but Farha loves to pose and get photographed". Though we did not realize the weight of these words during the telephonic coversation with Swapnil. We did come to know during the walima that Farha and her family LOVES to get photographed. We couldn't have been more happier cause as a photographer I love clients who want us to take their photographs, are enthusiastic about it and take out time for photography

A shot of the lovely bride taken during her nikah ceremony at Faisal Mosque. Probably my most favourite shot from 2011 especially because took it on the last day of the year. It was a lovely feeling to be part of her precious moments within the boundaries of this pristine and magnificent architecture. The beautiful white walls of the upper tier were perfect for this......

There is no doubt that twirls have been probably over used in Indian weddings. Still sometimes the location absolutely demands for it. Here is one such love struck location, with two people absolutely in love with each other; looking stunningly beautiful together.
The courtship period ends coming week, when Bhaskar and Srishti will tie the knot together. We can't wait for the celebrations to begin and to meet awesome friends and family once again.
