This is the year's first addition (2016) to my Surreal Evolution series of graphite drawings. The orb-like tree is a Phytoborg, something like a feral plant-machine hybrid. The landscape is post- Anthropocene or perhaps an example of exobiology.
Displayed at the 2017 LPL Art of Science Show and subsequently exibited at the University of Arizona Museum of Fine Art for the month of March 2017.

We’re setting the Siu Nim Tao form to metal band Meshuggah’s ‘Demiurge’ - a song so very monumentally heavy that if, in the far future, we ever go to war with an alien species, we should probably use this as the backing music.
Jay also brought some broadswords which I thought looked cool when catching the light. Supreme lighting arrangements and space to shoot was provided by another bro, Greta, who is an artist, visionary and gentlewoman (I’m trying to make this word a thing).
