I met Mural Artist Julie while she was painting in Downtown Half Moon Bay. She is quite a colorful person with a beautiful personality. The common bond I’ve learned all Artist share is the love for their art.

"Country" explores some of the most remote cultural traditions of the Indigenous peoples of Australia and focusses on contemporary aboriginal culture in the Australian Outback.

The exhibition is the result of a two-year research project by artist Georgia Severi who, within this Venetian setting, retraces her journey through the Australian continent. All participating artists share an investigative interest in social and political themes, each focusing on the concepts of identity.

The exhibition represents an ongoing study of memory and traditions through the used of mixed media aiming to reveal a new and broader perspective on what still remains a repressed and marginalized culture and to reflect upon it from both an historic and an artistic point of view. The show presents both a unique and collective experience about life, family, tradition, kinship and mere survival, constructing an imaginary bridge linking Western and Aboriginal cultures.

Excerpt from www.globalheroes.com/canadian-artist-benjamin-von-wong-ex...:

In 2021, Von Wong partnered with the Embassy of Canada in France to create a three-story-tall structure called The Giant Plastic Tap (#TurnOffThePlasticTap), a giant faucet leaking plastics into different settings, raising awareness of the dangers of plastic overconsumption.

In a case study introducing this installation and its inspiration, Von Wong said: “I’ve created campaigns from 168,000 plastic straws, 18,000 plastic cups, and 10,000 plastic bottles. But those projects only raised awareness for individual objects and never pointed to the root cause of the problem: Plastic production. This was my chance to create more than a piece of art,” the artist shared. “It was my chance to create a symbol inviting the world to #TurnOffThePlasticTap.”

This December, Von Wong’s Giant Plastic Tap is making its way to Toronto, settling into the new immersive exhibit, Arcadia Earth. Described as a multi-sensory journey and a captivating blend of artistic installations and cutting-edge technology, Arcadia Earth uses educational content and the power of art to create experiences that inspire action. Committed to sustainability, Arcadia Earth’s exhibits utilize materials that are responsibly sourced and upcycled from waste whenever possible.

This is a very special location I discovered a few years ago. Despite returning several times since then I’m still overwhelmed by the raw natural beauty of this location. It is a reminder that God is the ultimate artist, painting His creation for all to enjoy.

Although not a “secret” location it is mostly unknown, and I hope it stays that way. I don’t want to seem selfish but so many wonderful amazing scenic locations like this have been ruined by too any tourist coming to visit. Some because they have no appreciation for the wonders of the natural beauty that surrounds them and feel they have to leave their “mark” while other times it’s just the sheer numbers of people that destroy it.

If you know this location, please do not identify it.

If you appreciate the marvels of God’s creation and want to visit then I hope you are able to find it because I know you will leave it the way you found it but I pray others will simply enjoy it from the views I and other artists share.

Thank you for taking the time to view my photographic artist interruption of this wonderful location. I hope to post Milky Way photos from this location in the next few weeks.

think with your feet, not with your head. just try as it goes, think with your feet. let go of the thoughts, let go of the darkness. don’t dwell, don’t fear, don’t question. just go.

If I ever pulled a Genie out of a bottle and it’d ask me what I wanted to change about myself, I know exactly what I’d say: “I want to be confident.’

I wish I knew a life in which I didn’t constantly question, constantly berate myself and my own brain, in which I didn’t have this constant voice in the back of my mind saying that I’m just not good enough. And it’s not for a lack of people telling me that I am, that I am enough, than I am better than enough. It’s me. I’m insecure. One could argue that this is a trait that all artists share, but do I think some of us feel it more than others. And of course, there are days when you think you can do anything. I have a lot of those, luckily. I am a pretty happy person, most of the time. But I’m never too sure of myself, never too confident in my ability. The thought that I am going to fail is always the first in my mind, and the higher the stakes, the better the work I post, the happier I am with it — the bigger the fear. So I just stop myself from posting. I stop myself from creating, because everything is scary.

It’s just a hard couple of days, and hopefully I’ll snap out of it. I almost always do, and if I don’t, I have an amazing support system. But the dark days still weigh, sometimes.

April 9, 2022: Sign pointing the direction to Art City in Ventura, California. Art City Studios started about 30 years ago as Paul Lindhard needed a large outdoor location to do his rock sculptures. Currently, about 20 artists share the space. The Art City Studios website proclaims they're "a one-stop source for carving stone, landscape stone, and finished sculptures." 97/365

I just got the Hello Kitty Club Activities set, & these are # 1 & 4. Except for the paper parts (which are out of scale with the rest of the set IMO), they're the perfect size for the Gabe & Tomás.

A mural on the Target Store across from the third precinct. "As part of our plan to reopen the store, we committed to co-creating permanent murals on the store’s exterior that reflect the Lake Street community." 7 local artists shared their interpretations of the words "rooted, change, resilience, healing, growth, renewal and together."

A small note:

I love photography and I love my digital artwork. Sometimes, I can do all without borrowing other images.

I'm not happy harvesting photos of others to produce my artwork. However, my wild imagination makes it difficult for me to shoot the images that I need. Deviantart.com is a site where generous photographers/artists share their photos for digital manipulation. They allow the use of their photos with proper credits by the users.

I am like a film director where I want my pictures staged if possible. However, my current status is very difficult for me to achieve what I want in my images. Doing digital manipulation, I find a lot of controls in my hands to deliver my imagination.

I wish you do understand me. Thank you again for your visits.

I haven't tried this sort of thing before, so the background went a bit wrong. And I didn't know what I was doing with the negative painting, so I didn't really manage it. I quite like the richness of the colours tho - I'll just have to try again :-)

This year New York Bodypainting Day was held at Washington Square Park on July 22. Theme is 'Humanity'.

BODYPAINTING DAY is a public art event produced by Human Connection Arts in which a select group of talented artists paint on the bodies of nude models over a 4 hour period in full public view.

Bodypainting Day is founded by artist Andy Golub, who has been painting bodies in the public streets of NYC since 2007. Bodypainting Day started in 2014 in New York City.

In 2015, Bodypainting Day added the city of Amsterdam. In 2016, added the city of San Francisco. And in 2017, added the city of Berlin.

The ARTISTS share their voice with the public. So often, the artists skills are in full view, but their voices are hidden, promoting a product or focusing on sales. Bodypainting Day is a non-commercial event that focuses on the artists voice. This year’s theme “Humanity” challenges artists to seek what is on the inside of their model to inspire a painting on the outside.

When Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, musicians and stars of the movie "ONCE" received the Oscar to Best Song for "Falling Slowly", the beautiful main theme of the movie, two years ago, Marketa encouraged in her beautiful and moving speech anyone doing something artistic to dare to dream, no matter how far out the dream seemed, for dreams can come true...

Anton and I had been HUGE fans of the movie and went to see the band Marketa and Glen created (The Swell Season) in concert before the Oscars... We saw them again (twice, so far!) after that, huge, filling Radio City Music Hall in New York with their wonderful heartfelt voices and the purity of two of the best human beings in the music industry right now... if you ever saw "ONCE", if you have attended any of their concerts, you know for sure what I mean...

Needless to say, both artists are among the people I respect and admire the most. And I dreamed of the day I could maybe meet them. Crazy dream, you may say...

Well... thanks to social media, perhaps not that much anymore...

I wrote Marketa and thanked for the wonderful work they do, and I expressed how much I would love to be able to take some photos of her one day, specially now that she's in New York City for a while. I said how big a dream that would be...

Cut to two months later, and a few things in between, and Anton and I find ourselves spending one of the nicest Sundays of our lives, having lunch with the beautiful person behind the great artist, sharing wonderful conversation, and trying to have her youthful vibrant dreamy soul captured for my camera...

I dreamed, I achieved...

And I keep on dreaming... for only when you dream far you will get somewhere...

Thank you, Marketa, for being such an extraordinary person and for your friendship and love.

PS: UPDATE!

I apologize for changing the experience of watching these portraits by having to add watermarks, something I usually despise... But as usual, some people are totally disrespectful of the copyrights and I've seen a few of these photos already circulating on Tumblr.... without even giving me the credit. Taking these portraits was too important and beautiful an experience to let it be tainted by having to fight in the future with anyone over them... Thanks for understanding.

UPDATE #2 (Wednesday 6.46PM): Tipping my hat off to Tumblr's costumer service. After emailing them about the unauthorized usage of my copyrighted images, 5 minutes later, the images were gone from Tumblr. For once, good work.
