Visitors in the "swimming pool" at museum Voorlinden. An art installation by Leandro Erlich. It is fun "art". The effect of being in the pool or watching people from the outside is amazing. I visit the museum regularly and I still enjoy the pool :-)

The museum is open again, with some restrictions due to corona. The visitors were let into the art installation one at a time. I mainly increased the contrast. I needed some cool color today. It's hot outside :-)
Happy Sliders Sunday!
This art installation at Compton Verney looks fun, we’ll explore properly next time we visit. It was a very cold day in early March when this was taken, so we spent the day in the art gallery which has lots of interesting exhibitions.

Antony Gormley, discussing his artwork in 2015 -
"I always wanted this to be an open work. The sculptures that comprise ANOTHER PLACE are not statues of ideal or heroic figures from history, they are simply copies of my own body that I used to indicate a human space in space at large."
Antony Gormley decided to pursue art after studying anthropology and nearly becoming a Buddhist monk while travelling in India. The human body, his own in particular, has been his subject in sculpture that explores humanity, space and community.
"I've never been interested in making statues," he says. "But I have been interested in asking what is the nature of the space a human being inhabits. What I try to show is the space where the body was, not to represent the body itself."

This was in the Dubai Mall. There were thousands of these on the ceiling. It was stunning. This is the largest mall in area in the world. There is a skating rink, a wonderful spot-TWG where we had afternoon tea. These malls have much more to offer than just shopping. I guess in the summer these places are a refuge.

What started out as a late afternoon shoot of the walkable tetrahedron steel pyramid on top of a spoil tip in Bottrop turned into a rather exciting, rain-swept endeavor as a thunderstorm passed right overhead.

The town I live in has an amazing public art program. There are permanent sculptures around town plus installations that change in some of the public parks. This is a new installation that randomly changes colors. I love it ! !
Whenever we cross into the U.S. at the Peace Arch crossing I see this unusual art installation and since its not a place you can stop to take pictures, unless of course you like to live dangerously :) the only way to photograph it is from the car as you cruise through, mopping your brow, sighing in relief that you weren't strip searched or had your Nexus card revoked for smuggling in an errant orange :)
