I know that I've already shot a lock. What interested me in this was the chain.

Punishment, most commonly, for cheating.
Magic using isn't a common sight in the art of torturing. It's mostly causing pain, but sometimes there are business gaps. The target audience is the cheated wifes and women, thirst for revenge! The man is lured into a trap, and the paid sorcerer casts the spell on them. Removing moisture from their body, and Turning them into small statues. They won't die, but they not lose consciousness. They remember these times, like a never-ending dream. Oh, and don't forget the thirst. If you want them, to turn back, just simply toss the little statue into water. They will suck it up, like a sponge. Soon a dried and wrinkled raisin-like figure appears. He won't cheat you again.
Saturday morning, I met Jessica at Artifact for a quick tutorial on using her camera. (I have no idea whether she would like this picture, so I didn't tag her!) I was showing her the joy of the 50mm lens for portraits AND landscapes; it's versatile, and it's light, so it travels well. It's ironic, too, because I was also showing her how to move the little focus button around and out of the center, in regard to that rule of thirds. Yet here she is, smack dab in the center of the photo. Oh, well. Rules...broken.
(See what I did there with the ellipsis? Used it correctly. Uh-huh.)
I worked on photos—yesterday's fruit and a bonus fruit for today, in honor of the Super Bowl. And then we went with a virgin friend to Clementine for a lovely dinner. I had the pheasant, which tastes sort of like chicken, only better, and the charcuterie. Best chopped liver in the world. Best pickles in the world. Serena tried the bone marrow bread pudding, which she thought was delicious but far too rich for an appetizer. The place was packed to the brim for the two hours or more that we were there. Service was excellent.
We came home, and I passed out instantly. And then I woke up at 3:45 with a song in my head. I peeled off all my nail polish and went back to sleep at 4:30.

Insect Artifact Frames! Made using a variety of supplies.
A quick Halloween Idea! Last week at King of Prussia Mall, I saw a shadow box w/faux bugs in it as decor. $125 to $150 each. I made my version using a recycled frame, sheet of scrapbook paper and rubber/plastic critters, dab of hot glue. My price $2.25. You can create a high end version w/an ornate double sided glass shadow box w/critter, silk ribbon for under $10. Perfect for last minute Halloween crafting and parties! xoxo
Broken glass found while turning up my garden, and saved all summer. I thought it looked a bit like an eye, and wanted to give it rays, but i am also poor and didn't want to use that much thick silver on a ring that is sorta far out. I made the frame and set bezel weight silver on top, hammering down around the rays. I like the effect, it reminds me of a certain gold god (mayan? aztec? don't remember)

In person, the size of the ensemble is incredible ... the unnatural bulk of the head would've been filled by a fancy wig, don't worry!

This native artifact was found by my grandfather in an area known to have been inhabited by the Saugeen Ojibway Nations and the Odawa before the Saugeen. I'm interested in learning more about this tool. Please leave a comment if you have any information.
You can find art in some unlikely places. I saw this in rustic passenger shelter. It was hung at the higest point. If I had not looked up I would have never seen it. Lucky for me it was very sunny and the warm light refected up to illuminate the subject.

3d rendErrors
Created in 123D Design on an iPad. Z-fighting is a rendering artifact produced when two coplanar surfaces occupy the same virtual space. The interference patterns are a product of the rendering engine interpreting the z-buffer values for both surfaces as they "fight" for dominance.
By pitting two flat surfaces against one another within an already virtual 3D design environment, the impression of a second virtual 3D space is created.
