Here's an old milk bottle lid from a bottle of Round Hill Farms Approved Milk that I found when cleaning out my Dad's house.
As I have never in my life had milk from a bottle sealed with a waxed paper cap — I'm not that old — I can't tell whether it was delicately pried intact from a bottle or never used at all.
Round Hill Farms is long gone, but growing up in Greenwich, I'd occasionally find old milk bottles embossed with their name when doing bottle digs. Apparently they existed into the 1950s, when our family bought land in (ooh la la) Back Country Greenwich — because my father told me Round Hill Farms had pastures that extended to where Parkway School stands today, with the "Art Barn" which belonged to them then housing not counter-culture hippies (as Parkway students of the 70s will remember) but cultured cows.

The Art Barn owned by Cora Lidster. It was known as the art barn because art classes were held there starting in 1948. It was located on 2921 Hillcrest Drive, later renamed Skyline Drive. LHP00318.
