Do you remember that night, where we looked up at the stars together and I said: "That star's got your name on it".
You rolled your eyes and called me cheesy.
I miss that.

For those of you who don’t know, I picked up photography in the most random manner possible.
A girl had just broken up with me, and I was in a tiny mining city lost in the deserts of Nevada (8 hours drive away from Vegas). Looking up at the stars one day, I decided that I wanted to photograph them.
I quickly found out that wal-mart level point and shoots weren’t up to the task and graduated to an SLR after about 2 weeks of returning various models and makes to and from the local wal-mart… which was the town mall. You know, where the cool kids hang out on weekends…
Anyways, I happen to be in the Eastern Townships today with the family in a beautiful chalet. On the way back home from Oktoberfest, I notice immediately the starlit sky which makes me reminisce.
For the curious soul out there, I've attached my first ever star-sky photograph taken HERE
about 2 years ago! Check the difference =)
This shot took me almost 2 hours to get right after numerous camera malfunctions, trigger malfunctions, focus malfunctions… It was about -5 degrees outside and I had no gloves, and was running around in t-shirt to get this competent sillouhette.
My idea of fun on a frigid Saturday evening.
Then, I spent the next hour trying to upload this shot on flickr using a horribly incompetent 56k connection to get this shot online…just for you.
I hope you enjoy it.
Strobist Info:
1x Open living room light behind me.
Not quite sure where the red comes from
Do passing cars count as strobist info for the lit trees>?

UPDATE: Starlight Rainmeter Package A more comprehensive package containing my modified Launchy and CD Art Display skins, among other things, is coming. I just need permission from the original authors first.
UPDATE: I just posted a preview of my latest Rainmeter project - Halo HUD. Starlight Rainmeter Package coming momentarily...
UPDATE: I just added TweetScan to the list of Rainmeter configs below. Eurostile font included with it. Enjoy!
UPDATE: Thanks for the feature Lifehacker! If you want to read more about my methodology, check out my last desktop Faded and Desaturated
I call this one Starlight.
Changes:
Basically, I moved some things around and out of the way, as well as giving it a little more style and visual flare. The taskbar auto-hides at the bottom. I know it doesn't "pop" like a lot of other minimalistic desktops, but that's the point.
Like I said before, Twitter Rainmeter config is incoming. I haven't been able to work on my desktop configuration until recently, thus the delay. Expect it before the week is out, along with a preview of another huge Rainmeter project I've been working on. Trust me, it will be Legendary. ;)
As usual...
