This is my dog Arrow. She is a pure bred Beagle. The Beagle breed was selectively bred so they could be good hunting dogs. I learned that they have big ears that can capture sounds and an extra strong nose that contains a smell for a long period of time. The white tip of her tail was bred into the dog so that the masters could find them when the dog was up ahead of them.

Twin Arrows Road | Angell | Arizona | USA

35°9'39" N 111°16'48" W

Built in the late 1940s as Canyon Padre Trading Post, the store soon changed its name to Twin Arrows, seemingly inspired by the nearby town of Two Guns. It was then that the iconic wooden arrows were built, planted in the parking lot to guide motorists to the trading post’s doors. The post included a gas station, gift shop, and a Valentine diner.

Unfortunately the creation of a nearby interstate led to swift decrease in road traffic, and combined with the changing cultural tastes that were moving away from kitschy roadside attractions, the trading post fell into decline. Twin Arrows operated under different owners as best it could until 1995, when it was finally abandoned.

UPDATE ON THE ARROW FUNDS HANK - THIS LITTLE (BIG) LOVE BUG IS GAINING WEIGHT AND GETTING MUCH DESERVED LOVE!!!

Earlier this week, Hank moved to All Pets Veterinary Hospital for continued care and to receive his vaccines. With such great progress, he will soon be ready to move on to a foster home!

As you can see, Hank is safely packing on the pounds he so desperately needed. While under the care of the amazing staff at Blue Pearl, he gained nearly 9lbs, weighing in at 40lbs during yesterday's visit. This is such great news for sweet Hank! He is all kisses and just wants to be loved; which, how could you not love that face?! Despite his severe neglect, Hank is quite confident and we can already tell that he is feeling safe and knows he is being well cared for. The first thing he did when he met me for the first time was plant a big wet one right on my face!

Hank will continue to follow a strict feeding regimen as it is imperative that he eat and gain weight at a stable pace. In addition, he will be receiving regular follow ups to ensure that his body is adjusting to a regular diet. Hank is still in need of your prayers and happy thoughts as he continues down this path. Trust me, if he could thank you all in person, it'd be with a big smooch!

HANK'S STORY - Hank was found wandering around Louisville, KY by some good samaritans. They took him in and immediately began searching for someone to help. As soon as The Arrow Fund got the call, transport began to take him to Blue Pearl. Hank was severely emaciated to the point that it was clear neglect. An investigation is underway to find the person(s) responsible for his condition.

Donations are always needed and so very much appreciated. Donations may be submitted at www.thearrowfund.org or checks may be mailed to P.O. Box 1127 Prospect, KY 40059.

Thank you for all of your support!

I love the Red Arrows and will never tire of seeing them! Couldn't go up church tower to watch this year so climbed a haystack in middle of a field instead. It was Amazing! They were directly overhead and the noise was deafening!

"I don't want... I don't want to be Green Arrow anymore. It's what took me away from her in the first place. I'm not going to do that again."

Took the dogs out for a walk in the big yard this afternoon only to find our neighbor has apparently been BOW HUNTING on our land. This is just down the hill from the house. Where our three geese hang out. We're going to call the police about this, even though we know there's nothing they can or will do. The angle of this arrow and the bulls eye position of it is too much of a coincidence. Somebody was in our yard, shooting arrows. Our geese are always down at this pond, bathing and swimming. Right now we've got them locked up in the smaller front yard. I want to section off a larger portion of the big yard (far away from the asshole neighbors) so that they have room to graze and also be safe.
