Ovenbirds spend much of their time foraging on the ground, often walking with a herky-jerky, wandering stroll that is unlike most terrestrial songbirds. Territorial males are very vocal and often sing from tree branches, occasionally quite high up. Ovenbirds breed in closed-canopy forests, particularly deciduous and mixed deciduous-coniferous woods. You may find them in most forest types, from rich oak or maple woods to dry pine forest, although they avoid wet or swampy areas.

but I am arrogant enough to mean "lower forms of animal life" when I refer to animals. Thus, when I say that I like animals, I do not necessarily include my own species, among whom are large numbers of individuals for whom I have no fondness at all, and some whom I hold in utter contempt. Indeed, I sometimes wonder why "You're an animal" is an insult; it seems to me that, if animals could talk, "You're a human" would be one of their favorite insults :-)

Three strong oxen were living in the bush. one red, white and black. One day a lion came upon them and wondered how he might eat the three oxen. The lion realized that he could not attack all the three oxen at the same time . He made a plan to divide them and eat them one by one.
The lion came to the red & black oxen and told them that the white ox was spoiling the bush where they lived. He suggested that the white ox should be killed in order to save the environment. Unknowingly the two oxen thought that the lion was right and allowed him to kill and eat the white ox.
After few days, the lion again came to the red ox and told him that the black ox was arrogant and was intending to kill him (the red ox). The lion suggested that he should protect the life of the red ox by killing the black ox. The red ox agreed the lion’s plan and killed the black ox.
After few days the lion came to the red ox and said, “It is now your time to die.”
The red ox now understood the planned trick of the lion, but was powerless .
The red ox said to the lion,
“You killed me when you killed the white ox.”

About the photo :
This photo was from a smaller spot of big landscape image , but the whole image looks a bit boring, almost deleted it. But the tiny spot which looks nice of its own. I cropped and enlarged it. Not the best, but I like the scenery.

With its noisy chattering, black-and-white plumage and long tail, there is nothing else quite like the magpie in the UK. When seen close-up its black plumage takes on an altogether more colourful hue with a purplish-blue iridescent sheen to the wing feathers and a green gloss to the tail.
Magpies seem to be jacks of all trades - scavengers, predators and pest-destroyers, their challenging, almost arrogant attitude has won them few friends. Non-breeding birds will gather together in flocks.
... I take way to many shots of my dog, and then forget to post them ... this arrogant look is from 3 months ago ...

I love walnut trees, with their generous crowns without being crowded, with their bark's color resembling the color of the sea stones, with the special green of the fine leaves, with the almost arrogant greatness with which they face the heat of the hot summers of the South and the sharp frost of our winters.
I took this one from the garden of my former apartment in the city, it's the "baby" of the walnut tree I found when moved there, many many years ago, it was no taller than a bottle of water when I planted it here.
I can only hope it will be here many many years after me, generously giving food to the smart crows and joy to the ones watching it.

The secretary (Sagittarius serpentarius) is a large species of birds of prey that inhabit large parts of the African continent south of the Sahara. He inhabits savannah landscapes and feeds mainly on large insects and small mammals, which he kills with long-legged kicks. But other small animals are among his prey. Among other things, he is also able to hunt poisonous snakes. The neck plumage is extended to a characteristic, long and sparse bonnet, possibly the name "secretary" goes back to this feature, as the feathers of the hood act like behind the ear inserted quills.

Enzo was having cash flow challenges and had approached Henry Ford II, to explore buyout options, and the deal was progressing until he realized that Ford had no intentions of giving him a lot of cash and still let him run the company in his own way, and the divorce (before the wedding) was very very acrimonious! Proud Ford met very Proud Enzo Ferrari, and Enzo was very verbally dismissive and arrogant about Ford matching his racing ability and record. Henry basically said, $$ no object, but we MUST beat Ferrari at the 24 hours of LeMans, the world's most prestigious (by far) endurance race. The winning Mark IIs ran the big 427 Nascar racing engine, but for this street version, the original 289 (detuned) was slipped back in. Still a potent engine, but much more street friendly!
In competition prep, Ford won at LeMans in 1966,67,68 and 69, proving it could take on the Europeans and win. Though from another perspective, Ford was, and still is a world wide behemoth, compared to Ferrari's small operation, making it much harder to say who was David and who Goliath........
