From the 2010 Studio Ghibli movie Arrietty, which finally opened in the US this weekend. The Jelly family heartily recommends this movie to all Ghibli and Miyazaki fans!
It was dark and dismal in Seattle this weekend, so this wasn't shot under the best of possible lighting conditions (hence the shopped background). But the hand is a fully three-dimensional Lego creation, the palm rising several inches above table level. The ivy leaf is based on one plucked from the wall outside my Lego room. It all looks much more impressive "in the flesh"!

Esta es mi primera publicación en el grupo "Lío de fotos", me hace gracia el nombre porque yo mismo titulo a mi galería "Cajón desastre" haciendo un juego de palabras para enfatizar aún más en lo anárquico de los temas expuestos.
Esta foto es la última de una serie de 3 que comencé hace tiempo (he puesto las otras en el hilo de "Enfrascados") y aunque no es la que más me gusta, me he alegrado de sentirme empujado a completarlo gracias al reto de la semana en este grupo.
Me gusta imaginar que existe un mundo paralelo de seres diminutos, seres que viven en nuestros hogares y que cogen "prestadas" nuestras cosas para subsistir (además de para volvernos locos). No se si habéis visto una película de animación llamada "Arrietty y el mundo de los diminutos", a mi me gusta tanto que ya veis, pura fuente de inspiración.
Aquí uno de los habitantes de la casa ha conseguido atrapar a un diminuto y lo guarda celosamente en la despensa en un tarro de cristal con papel transparente agujereado para permitir su respiración.
Un encuadre difícil, pero creo que he conseguido gracias a la iluminación, que parezca que la foto está hecha desde dentro hacia afuera de la despensa.

So, while on their own, neither of these is a true 100 stud+ SHIP, I think together they probably qualify. They do have interiors as well but I didn't have time to split them apart and photograph those. And on the Old Arrietty (the one on the left), the interior isn't quite finished.

I found this "book" on sale at Borders. It's actually a kit/box with a secret house inside!
It's called The Secret Life of Bears, and came with a tiny teddy and lots of activities on the shelves & in the drawers. Arrietty immediately claimed this as her playhouse. Now she has somewhere to hold Tea Parties!
