This is *the* shot of the city I captured before getting the idea of capturing the wider scene with the loading station of the Duquesne Incline included.
The weather forecast called for fog this morning. They issued warnings for dangerous driving conditions and everything. Apparently, it missed Pittsburgh by a few hundred vertical feet. The clouds were low but not low enough to make a dramatic 'city in fog' shot, let alone make driving any more risky. I still liked what I saw and captured. It just wasn't what I was hoping for.
Here's to the unexpected yet still good.
On my way home from work, I noticed a decorative garden planted on an island in the middle of an intersection. Of course I stopped to photograph the flowers!

Todos nos passamos por uma.
Bom dia.
We all transform one way or another..
Here's one of the spots I shoot my views of the city from: The Duquesne Incline observation deck. Everybody and their mom shoots from up here, but I decided to give you guys a wider view of the scene, to give you a better sense of "being there." Can't you feel that constant wind? No? Get yourself a box fan, turn it on high and point it at you so that it's always fanning you from the side (not directly in your face). That's how it feels up here. All. The. Time.
The very first touch of snow. 204 1st Street West is the home of Style Trend Clothiers. A sleety snow was falling in town and the real stuff was up on the mountain side.
MonoMarch #25
This marks the end of MonoMarch 2018 for me. I'll be away from the ol' PC for the last week of March, taking a much needed break. See ya in April!
This time of year is magical on our road. The trees create a tunnel of color that invites you to walk and enjoy the season. Autumn is late this year so the leaves are just starting to turn. I will post again as they change.
Last summer the town came through and cut many of the old trees back or totally down. The residents of our road were furious. The town explained that the power company was tired of coming out and fixing the lines everytime there was a storm. Everyone on our road has a generator so we weren't concerned about not having any power. But cut away they did!
From earlier this year, at a small garden planted on an island in the middle of an intersection of two streets. The colors of Christmas have nothing on the colors of springtime!
Shot under the overpass that connects the Fort Pitt Bridge to the Fort Duquesne Bridge. The overpass flies over Point State Park and this is one side of the tunnel that goes under the overpass. The tunnel itself has a small pedestrian bridge (where I made this shot from) and the rocks you see in their half circle patterns are submerged in about a foot of water...usually. Confusing? Yep.
Shot during Pittsburgh Photo Safari's Pittsburgh @Night (Downtown, Point) event.
