I decided to wait several hours before posting these pics due to reports of a helicopter crash involving Fort Lewis. Since this helicopter wasn't involved, I feel better posting this tonight instead of waiting a respectful period.

South Carolina Army National Guard Soldiers of the 2-151st Aviation Regiment, Security and Support Aviation Battalion (SSAB), 59th Aviation Troop Command (ATC), South Carolina National Guard, celebrate the arrival of the latest version of the Lakota light-utility helicopter, the Airbus UH-72B. The ceremony was held at the South Carolina National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility (location 2), South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center, Greenville, South Carolina, on April 14, 2023. The UH-72 is a proven search & rescue, security, and general support platform developed from a commercial, off-the-shelf aircraft, the Airbus H-145, and has been the Army’s light-utility helicopter since 2006. Because of the off-the-shelf nature of the Lakota program, the Army maximizes the benefits of retrofitting a commercial aircraft through improvements and enhancements specific to the needs of the National Guard, throughout the evolution of the aircraft, and without additional R&D costs to the United States government. The 2-151st SSAB received two UH-72B of eighteen built for the U.S. Army National Guard. Because of the enhanced capabilities of these B-model Lakota helicopters, the 2-151st will be able to carry more rescuers and/or survivors per each air-rescue mission, thus allowing for faster delivery of injured patients to local hospitals.
