The only tower I've ever seen with a small cluster of oak trees on top of it.

Most of our little village from above. I've just bought my first Drone and I have so much to learn but will enjoy the challenge.

Such a llovely surprise to find this in Explore, this morning. Thanks for looking, your comments and ffavourites will brighten my day.

Taking off from Burbank the day after a rain does have its advantages. Super clear, still have clouds, and rare snow on the mountains north of the Valley!

A pastel sky sets over Dubrovnik and Lokrum Island along the Adriatic in Croatia.

The shadow you see cast over Dubrovnik is from the cliff that I was standing on. It creates quite an unusual effect.

Bangladesh: Flower Boats Shaped like petals of flower, boats are harbored on the Buriganga River. Water transportation is an important means of communication in Bangladesh. Traditional country boats are still popular and they provide low cost convenient transport in this extensive inland waterways.

The Buriganga River flows past the southwest outskirts of Dhaka city, the capital of Bangladesh. The Buriganga is so polluted that its water appears pitch black, except during the monsoon months, and emits a foul stench through the year. The chemical waste of mills and factories, household waste, medical waste, sewage, dead animals, plastics, and oil are some of the Buriganga's many pollutants.

About

Yesterday, saturday the 18th of october we had a Flickr Meetup in Mechelen, big thanks to the organisers and all participants for the most enjoyable day.

This is my first upload for that day.

A view from the top of Sint Rumbolds tower some 97 meters above ground level, you can see the 'Grote Markt' on the right side and obviously the cross shape of the Cathedral.

The shot

Standard 3 exposures HDR [-2,0,+2EV] in RAW/ISO100 at f/14 using the Sigma 10mm fisheye lens.

Handheld since there was no plas to put the tripod.

Photomatix

Tonemapped using the detail enhancer.

Photoshop

° A small rotation to get the cross 100% straigth.

° Curves to deepend the colours, masked away on the darker areas.

° Curves for extra depth on the clouds, masked away everywhere but the sky.

° Dodging of the midtones on some darker areas.

° Smart sharpen filter.

Stood at the top of Skiathos and overlooking the island of Skopelos in the distance. Below is Skiathos very short runway to its Airport. For anyone who has ever visited the island, it really is quite a hairly landing. I am just still going through old shots that show some lovely weather and blue skies

Searching and finding

In the "Okavango Delta" in Botswana (BWA), we stayed overnight in a safari in tents. Then we flew over the delta with a small sports machine. A great experience. In the photo you can see different animals. You just have to look carefully. Like we were from the air then.

A view from mont parnasse

This is a view from the bridge on Charles G Seivers Boulevard as it crosses over Market Street in Clinton, TN. It appears to be an old part of town with several antique shops, a garden area, an old drug store, etc. in several old buildings.

This photo is an HDR created from three photos taken at -2, 0 +2 EV.

Mount Rushmore is one of those places that gives me chills every time I visit. Last time out in the Black Hills with my family, we had the opportunity to take a helicopter tour over the monument and the surrounding area, allowing me to get this less seen view of the men on the mountain.

We flew right over these crazy mineral fields when landing at SFO. Does anyone know what they are? Salt? Chemicals? The Spice?

A graphic illustration of the tensions we live with in California(and the west coast of the USA) This is an arial view of some of the faults that are running through California. You can see how the edges are rubbing and pushing together....The pic isnt that good I was shooting through a dirty ariplane window but I thought I would share, i found it mighty interesting to see.

View On Black

I love to fly, and always request a wondow seat so that I can look out and take in as much of the scenery as possible. This autumn scene of farmlands over Wisconsin was breathtaking as I took in the colors of autumn, saw the patchwork quilt of the farm layouts, and enjoyed the expanse of the land below me. Nature is beautiful from any angle, any season, any day of the year! Why not take some time out of your busy day today to enjoy a bit of nature's beauty? PS You don't have to do it from an airplane. You can do it just as easily on foot, too! LOL

NOTE: Thanks so very much for your many visits, kind comments, and invitations. Most of all thanks so much for your friendship. It's always so great to hear from you!!!!

I fell in love with Dubai, the minute I landed. (okay, may be not the minute we landed, because the immigration lines were overwhelming!!!! So be prepared to have patience when you land at DXB airport.) I know articles, documentaries, force people to make an opinion about Dubai. But there is also another side to it. There is always another side to everything. What it was, what they made of it. Just great. This particular photo is my favorite. It reminds me of the awesome city, the fun we had, & it will always be a reminder for me to go back to Dubai, to explore more of this place. This photo was taken from the top of the world, top of "Burj Khalifa" (tallest building in the world, with total of 200 floors.) This was taken from the observation deck at 124th floor, the maximum tourists are taken to. The lift takes you from ground floor to 124th floor in only 60 seconds. Now that's just crazy!

I wanted to draw more but it got too hot in there.

Just North of Benavente on the side of Motorway A-6 there is a huge scrap yard complex. Waiting for to be scrapped or for a buyer who allows a (partial) second live: thousands of trucks, vans, cars, sand trucks, cranes, agriculture machinery etc etc. are lined up in the dry and sandy countryside.

I've never seen such a big area of inactive vehicles.

I found this view on Google Earth View. It gives you an impression of the gigantic dimensions of this scrap yard site.
