These are some of the biggest clouds I've seen at golden hour in Monument Valley in my last 4 trips. If you have a great shot of MV with nice clouds consider yourself lucky. :) This was taken during a 4 day blitz of the southwest with Flickr friend and photographer William McIntosh.

You are looking at a handwound 17-jewel pocket watch movement in a dead cheap "Polaris" pocket watch from the Yantai Watch & Clock Factory.
These watches were sold for the breathtaking amount of 75 CNY (equals about 10.40 EUR or 11.76 USD) as souvenirs at the Yantai Watch & Clock Museum.
Considering how much gunk is inside this movement, it is no wonder the watch is that cheap...

The lights are switched on at the farytale castle Moritzburg in Saxony. The tourists went back to their homes ore hotels, and finally peace and quietness is coming. Now the time has come, that I really can enjoy that view.

Wind tunnels are large tubes with air blowing through them. The tunnels are used to replicate the actions of an object flying through the air or moving along the ground. Researchers use wind tunnels to learn more about how an aircraft will fly. NASA uses wind tunnels to test scale models of aircraft and spacecraft. Some wind tunnels are large enough to contain full-size versions of vehicles. The wind tunnel moves air around an object, making it seem as if the object is really flying.
We are going to go a little further north, leaving the Sombrero Chino island to reach the Bartolomeo island. Both islands, very small, are located near the island of Santiago. The birds follow us during the crossing.

Brown Shrikes are migratory birds and sighted in winters across the country. I suppose they migrate from Northern Asia / China. They are not common as compared to their other cousins, the Long Tailed Shrike and the Bay Backed Shrike which are seen lot more. This year, we have seen several Brown Shrikes during the summer too much to my surprise.
This kind of surveying from a tall perch is a typical behavior demonstrated by Shrikes. This bird family prefers to perch on dry branches around 2-3 meters high and survey the nearby area, often within 10 meters for any insects or small larvae etc... Once it identifies the prey, it quickly dives, catches and gets back to the perch. On this occasion, this juvenile was excited, fluttered its wings several times, but think it lost sight, so it didn't make the jump.

I just found this book in a public bookcase (yes, I know I have enough books, but I could not resist) and I had to show you … It is from 1945 and the title just got me….Babies are fun.
Babies are fun indeed but wait until they are all grown up and don’t want to sleep early, help around the house or just do anything else than playing video games, watching YouTube and eating sweets… Out of the sudden, that fun baby you had isn’t fun anymore … But of course, you will still love that grown up baby for the rest of your life !!
This is truly a book to promote babies so of course they dont say any negative things about babies :-). I like it and I like the title and I hope you do too !
So who else thinks babies are fun ?

Many of you who are lucky enough to go on safari have seen examples of the symbiotic relationship btween animal and animals and birds. I have seen it as well but in the past the birds flew away before I could get a decent picture.
Luck was with me again here by Lake Nakuru where I finally was able to capture oxpeckers with an impala. The birds pick ticks and other insects off of the impala. And I guess we have to believe that the impala is appreciative. I know many of wehumans would be.
True that Roses come in numerous colors but primarily I think of them as how I have captured these beauties. We planted Roses here late last fall so I’ve been sharing them here on Flickr as they continue to bloom and please. “Roses are Red” Thanks for your views and kind comments. Gratitude and Kindness are with us and nature every day of the year.
