One of the reasons why I love, love, love my old Olympus E-510. Even the kit lenses never failed to surprise me!

Archives familiales

Still struggling to get out, weather still not playing ball. Found from the archive during a clean up, nearly a year has gone by since I took this one (March 17).... time flies.......

Not been out due to a combination of work & really dull and dreary weather. Trying some new software too.. Taken March 2012.

I just started archiving my MAD Magazine art. 26 years worth! (The first 5 years I worked there MAD kept the original art). The work has been stored in no particular order. I'm finding drawings that I haven't seen in years and basically completely forgot. It is a bit overwhelming! This is just the tip of the iceberg!!

Withering Structures

captions to come soon

Anacamptis morio 2014, Antanges, VD, Switzerland. One of our first orchids. I am really looking forward!

The top three floors (of five) in the American Heritage Center, seen from an outdoor art exhibit between it and the museum. University of Wyoming.

And the archiving of my work continues. Now I am getting all of the drawings (well over a hundred), from Noёl Riley Fitch and my book “Paris Café: The Sélect Crowd,” labelled and in order. They were done in sketchbooks between 1995 and 2007. My sketchbooks are dated and numbered. Luckily, I put the sketchbook number on the back of the drawings. They had been cut out. So, it was very easy to find the year each drawing was done. Still more to do…..

Haven't seen an impressive sunrise in quite some time, so it's back to the archives to remind myself what they look like.

I'd missed this one on initial processing of the shots from Howick Scar a month ago or so, as the bright reds of the early morning were much more eyecatching. On reflection though, I decided I quite like the way the clouds all seem to be being sucked away to the far right of the picture.

This was taken from about as far as I could go along the scar, using an ND grad to hold back the sky and cloudy white balance to warm the shot.

Something a little different this past weekend, I did not take a single photos. I had to search though my archives to come up with a photo to post.

I had quite the busy and fun weekend as it started out by being invited (John and Laura) down to Saugatuck for a sunset boat cruise and dinner and Ice cream. The sunset was a bust but time with friends was wonderful. Saturday morning/afternoon Denny and I played in a pickle ball tournament in Lake Odessa. We made it all the way to the gold medal match but lost two games to one and took home the silver. Then Saturday evening Kari and I went out to dinner in Holland and more Ice cream with Denny, Brenda, Terry and Marcia. Very good time talking and eating dinner with friends.

Sunday morning I usually take a walk through Grand Ravines North Park with Lee but Kari thought that we should take an early morning walk with Tucker before church, so no photography in the park that morning. But we did have a lovely walk together and it was a great way to start a Sunday morning. After church I attempted to play a little more pickle ball with Joe, Nate and Bruce but the rain came in as we were just ready to start. Then in the evening my daughter Monica and her soon to be husband Kody came over for chips and cheese. Had a very nice time with them just sitting on the front porch talking.

So after a long weekend I sat on the front porch by myself with my camera bag ready to go do the sunset only to see thick clouds roll in and blanket the sun.

Even though no photos were taken this weekend, I would have to admit it was still a great weekend.
