One of the best architectural designs, ever! 💖

Construction commenced in 2013 and was completed in August 2016...

From their website:

"Designed by award-winning Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), VIA 57 WEST offers a range of studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom residences, many with private terraces."

A 3 bed 3 baths would set you back by "only" $14,500 USD per month!!! 😂

Any interest? 😉

This is an abstract shot of the Royal Air Force Museum building at RAF Cosford, Albrighton, UK. I really liked the curve of the structure's weathered aluminium coupled with the moody overcast sky behind.

The building was constructed in 2006 by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios.

I've been waiting to head downtown to photograph the latest @calatravaofficial sculpture "Constellation".

It's located at River Point Park along the Chicago River. Perfect.

There are endless possibilities when photographing this sculpture.

No matter how rushed I am to catch my train, when I pass through the many layers and spaces filled with light, ramps, and passageways, surrounded by the energy of the bustling people around me, Grand Central Terminal never fails to impart a magical, uplifting feeling of connection and discovery.

On a typical day, over 750k people flow through the beating heart of Manhattan. They arrive and depart in trains, buses, cars, and by foot. Each individual winds their own path through the terminal telling their own unique story. Often, they'll pass right by one of the Terminal's many hidden gems oblivious to the fact that they could stop for a game of tennis in a hovering tennis court, or browse for books about trains in a Library behind a gray door, or stop for cocktails in the Cambell apartment. For over 100 years, Grand Central Terminal's thick walls, rich in history and nostalgic beauty, have silently and stoically absorbed the stories into their own.

Ocean will create a turbulent primal environment in the Rotunda of City Hall. A constantly-changing canopy of recycled textiles induces vast, unstable forces where brilliant bursts of light alternate with dark, surging movements and intense waves of hypnotic sound. A chorus of cries and whispers echoes within rising waves.

This dense aggregation of raw recycled textiles from H&M's Garment Collecting Initiative is transformed into an intricate and undulating mass, evoking the emergence of life in the ocean environment from unconscious realms into living form. This deeply immersive installation questions the hardened boundaries of traditional architecture and evokes self-generation, renewal and adaptation.

The work has been developed with Waterloo’s Living Architecture System Group and sound designer Salvador Breed.

A professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Waterloo, Philip Beesley is widely known as a pioneer in responsive architecture and sculpture. His Toronto practice Beesley Pucher Seifert is an interdisciplinary design firm that combines public buildings with international art installations. Beesley's work was selected to represent Canada at the 2010 Venice Biennale for Architecture. His distinctions include the Prix de Rome in Architecture, ACADIA Award for Research, Architizer A+ and Azure AZ Award.
