A section of the Walbrook Building roofline, photo taken from the inner courtyard behind Cannon Street in the City of London. Architect: Foster & Partners - Built 2010.
In capturing Fort Louvois in this ethereal atmosphere, I sought to transcend its historical military function to reveal its sculptural dimension. I deliberately isolated the structure from any temporal and geographical context, suspending it in a misty void that blurs the boundaries between sky and sea. This minimalist approach allowed me to extract the architectural essence of the monument, highlighting its defensive lines and characteristic silhouette. I wanted the viewer to feel the quiet strength of this stone sentinel, frozen in a moment outside of time. The monochromatic palette reinforces this sense of timelessness and invites a meditative contemplation of this human construction, now softened by centuries and transformed into pure presence.

Sadly, we spent only an hour or two in Detroit, as this was a business trip, and during most of that short time, it rained cats and dogs. Whenever the rain relented a bit, I got out of the car and took some pics but ended up drenched anyway...
Flooded harbor sheds on Lake St. Clair near Detroit, Michigan.
Lake St. Clair is part of the Great Lakes (It connects Lake Huron to Lake Erie) but isn't counted as the 6th lake, as it is only about twice as large as Lake Constance/Bodensee, though it's extremely shallow at a maximal depth of about 12ft/3.5 m!

Bifrost - the bridge between the humans and the gods - was rather unspectacular. Despite the wooden stairway and the coloured walls i somehow expected more. However, you need to go there to enter Valhalla.
