This is a photo I took of the roof of the central train station in the Hague, the Netherlands. I really like the pattern of the ceiling and the pillar that raises up to it.
This is a symmetry shot that is afforded by the font at Salisbury Cathedral in Wiltshire, UK. I really like how you can align the columns on the edges of the nave to achieve an almost perfect symmetry.
A simply building in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The white drapes pitted against the red brick arches was something my eye was drawn to the other night. This is one of my favorite images I have taken over the last few weeks. I hope you enjoy it as well.
This was I photo I captured at Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire on a rainy autumn day. I was greatful to find such a large puddle within the Abbey's main structure.
With sharp, angular lines and a bold colour, this staircase has become an Instagram favourite for architecture lovers. I was tipped off to this location by TheSmartLocal and knew I had to visit it last time I was in Singapore.

After the Noordoostpolder [North-East Polder] was reclaimed from the Zuiderzee [now IJsselmeer] in 1942, the village of Nagele was built in the fifties after a design by the architect group The Eight [Aldo van Eyck, Cornelis van Eesteren, Gerrit Rietveld, Mien Ruys]. The village is built according to strict and linear urban planning and is visited by architecture lovers from all over the world.
Nagele was primarily built for farmworkers, who, up to then, lived near to the farms. Subsequently schools, churches and shops were built, causing a more diverse population. In order to effectuate even more diversity also people who were not directly bound to the Noordoostpolder were able to rent a house in Nagele. Thus lots of people from the busy Randstad area [Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht] found their way to Nagele.
I captured this evening scene in Terminal 1 of Toronto Pearson International Airport. I had sadly already packed away my camera when I arrived in the terminal, but I was happy with how this came out on my phone's camera.
In 1996 the Thomas church on the Prinses Irenestraat in Amsterdam-Zuid was built and it’s currently owned by the Protestant church Amsterdam.
From 1955 there were plans for a Reformed church in the New South area of Amsterdam. The original building plans changed and the church became somewhat on the edge of the residential area instead of on a main road. Nowadays it is very close to the Zuidas and it’s office buildings.
The building was designed by architect Karel Sijmons and stands out for its austere layout, which is entirely devoted to Protestant worship. Three themes are central to this: the Word, the Baptism and the Supper.
The church has a sandstone floor which is a reference to the journey of the people of Israel through the desert and the undulating roof symbolizes the sea through which God led the Israelites under the leadership of Moses. The architect was inspired by the Notre Dame du Haut chapel in Ronchamp in France by architect Le Corbusier. This chapel also has a wavy roof.
