update Jan 2006: this used to be an area for vacation homes like chalets or homes like this one. The family that owns this house (they still do) say that this house used to have a brick wall around it (approx where I am standing with the camera) but because of the Iraqi invasion the walls were knocked down and people started helping themselves by taking the bricks to God knows where.

The location was formerly part of the Dresden fortress of which the outer wall is conserved. The name derives from the German word Zwinger (outer ward of a concentric castle); it was for the cannons that were placed between the outer wall and the major wall. The Zwinger was not enclosed until the neoclassical building by Gottfried Semper called the Semper wing was built to host the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister art gallery.

Luxembourg is a never ending building site, new construction is everywhere. I have watched this large office block go up over the last 3 years or so, next to the airport. The photo is just a small part of it.
It interested me because its a wooden framework construction, with some truly massive wooden beams, then covered in glass and metal.
New city centre for Liverpool. Relatively in the open, extends to the docks abd varying architecture.
