An archway leads the path through the Umayyad palace (Amman, Jordan), dating from the first half of the 8th Century. Only a few years after its construction, a massive earthquake left the site uninhabitable
Knowing this would be my last night in Chiang Mai, I went to the sunday night market. Again, lots of cool art (more artists showed up for this). There was a band playing some really trippy music (with a dijiridou). The food was off the charts! Mango with sticky rice, noodle soup, coconut water, fruit juice, I just kept eating. Then I stopped by the temple which has a really nice massage for 150 baht and it's legit. I got a shoulder and neck massage for the night and that was it.
If you saw this building from the outside, you would never suspect it would look like this. Gorgeous architecture made a mess by decades of renovations.
The first two floors are used on a daily basis, the top two are mothballed. I get the feeling this building was disused entirely for a short period and only in the past years did they start to use the first floors again. Regardless, location is withheld. These are inside a fully active medical center in the middle of a very busy city.
