This set of 5 images was to highlight the recently completed Sydney Northern Beaches Hospital by architects BVN, award-winning Australian architectural firm. It’s not often you see design of this quality and attention to detail placed into a hospital. If you look into the previous designs by BVN you start to get an understanding of how this could have come about. They’ve done many large scale buildings in the public sector, educations, commercial, defence, health & science, residential, transport and the list goes on. It’s nice to see that the health sector is provided with spaces that aren’t the old typical sterile hospital building we are used to. The way a space can impact a person is real and providing positivity whilst people heal is a step in the right direction. Whilst I love the outside of this building what’s going on inside is just as cool, as the hospital houses around 500 beds of those 60% are public with 40% being private. Which means that everyone within the local area can be treated here! 😃

Sur la gauche se trouve le Pavillon Noir, oeuvre du célèbre Rudy Ricciotti en 1999
En chiffres, le Pavillon Noir c'est :
- 4 studios de danse ( 255 m2 , 168 m2, 150 m2 et 98 m2)
- Le Théâtre, une salle de spectacles de 378 places
- 1 plateau de 17m x 14,50 m
- 400 mètres carré de bureaux
- 3 000 mètres carré entièrement consacrés à la danse
Au centre, on retrouve le conservatoire Darius Milhaud, dédié aux arts de la musique, de la danse et du théâtre.
Oeuvre de Kengo Kuma que l'on retrouvera au FRAC.
En chiffres cet édifice c'est :
- 7 000 m2 dédié à l ’enseignement musical
- 62 salles d’enseignement
- 15 salles de pratique individuelle
- 5 autres de pratique collective. - 2 salles réservées à l’enseignement de l’art dramatique
- 4 studios à la danse.
- Et un auditorium de 500 places.
