“Four things come not back: the spoken word, the sped arrow, the past life and the neglected opportunity.”
HAPPY SLIDERS SUNDAY !!
Why "Archery 123" rather than Arch 123?
Because I think this old and pretty structure is decorative rather than functional.
I don't think it bears any load except itself.
Why?
Look at the precarious stone work of the side columns.
Archery 123 is just there to decorate the sweet little arched window and to provide a prominent location for the house number - 123.
Yes, I did some max-style post-processing, However, the brightly-painted old homes of Alsace are, in a way. already "post-processed to the max."
Location: Eguisheim, Alsace FR.
In my album: Dan's Old architecture.
This theme brought me back into my late teens 😄. During this time I practised archery and won some competitions in 1991. This was my award of the club champignonship, a small pin.
HMM 😏
The #SummerOlympicSport of archery. Thanks to my neighbor, Wendell, a competitive archer, for posing.
Located in the Ankeny Plaza of Old Town, Portland. These old building arches are 19th century style architecture. While I cannot find any information on where this particular set of arches came from I am assuming they are what’s left from a fire that took place in the late 1800’s.
Bit of a struggle for Macro Mondays on this week's Summer Olympic Sports theme - but at least I unearthed some toys from a long time ago
Macro Monday theme Pick Two. My selection is Paper and Yellow.
This target face was used indoors at 18 meters from my days (years) of competitive archery. I’m now retired.
I was at the range longer than I had planned. I had ended up with this gnarly bruise from not wearing a bracer. Form was pretty consistent. Grouping with the recurve and without the full use of a peep-sight on the compound went pretty well. There is always a silver lining.
We were part of an exibition team for a local club. I am left handed, but for this Picture I had to simulate being right handed. This was taken at a sportmans show in town. Phyllis and I would do trick shots for the people. They looked complicated but were really easy as they were well planned. Oh yea, many years ago.
The Archery World Cup was held at Weber State University Ogden, UT for the first time in 2010. This shot was taken at the practice field because there was to much commotion at the actual competition.
