The Arc de Avalonia was built shortly after the demon war ended in order to honor all those who fought against the overwhelming horde that reduced so much of the continent to ash. Built to resemble an iconic Gallic monument that was leveled alongside the rest of the Franco capital city it was located in, the famous structure has now been recreated in the Avalonian Union's capital of Bruxelles.
(creator's note: this was built for the group Divide and Conquer 8. Any resemblance to the arc de triomphe is entirely not a coincidence.)

There's not many LEGO renditions of this ship on the internet so I thought I'd try my had at one.
I had been working on this for a month or so before I saw Caleb Rick's version on Flickr. It definitely inspired me to re-work a few areas, but I tried to stick with my original vision as much as I could.
This is one of my favourite Star Wars vehicles, it's a shame it's so under-represented in LEGO!

Two former 4-wheel Sentinel steam vertical-boiler locomotives converted at Thomas Hill's Vanguard Works at Kilnhurst in South Yorkshire as 'Vanguard' diesel-hydraulic locos (W/Nos.133C and 136C rebuilt in 1963 and 1964 respectively) work in tandem at the loading point serving ARC New Frome Quarry at Whatley on 6th March 1970.

I was shocked at the fact that it took seven whole steps to put together the ARC Trooper minifig. Just imagine how long it would take a real ARC Trooper to put on all that gear. "ARC" must stand for "Accessory Rich Clown".
Not to say that I minded the time it took to assemble such a magnificent fig, so keep up the great work, Lego!

Eye protection, Who needs it --
Certain types of UV radiation can produce an injury to the surface and mucous membrane (conjunctiva) of the eye called "arc eye," "welders' eye" or "arc flash." These names are common names for "conjunctivitis" - an inflammation of the mucous membrane of the front of the eye. The symptoms include:
pain - ranging from a mild feeling of pressure in the eyes to intense pain in severe instances
tearing and reddening of the eye and membranes around the eye (bloodshot)
sensation of "sand in the eye"
abnormal sensitivity to light
inability to look at light sources (photophobia)
The amount of time required to cause these effects depends on several factors such as the intensity of the radiation, the distance from the welding arc, the angle at which the radiation enters the eye, and type of eye protection that the welder or bystander is using. However, exposure to just a few seconds of intense UV light can cause arc eye. These symptoms may not be felt until several hours after exposure.
