Karas, the ultimate henshin badass from the anime of the same name. Figure in black is Karas from S.O.G. Max Factory.
The red armored badass is Raiden from Kakugo no Susume "Apocalypse Zero." Figure is from Manga Realization Armor Shell Zero & Awaking Raiden Set. Raiden is the same size as Karas.. so... they had to battle of course.
The battle takes place after the events of Karas: The Revelation.

This is the second time I revise this image. I mostly reworked the lighting and skies.
If you're curious about the characters/story it's called Kakugo no Susume or Apocalypse Zero in the US. It's ultra gory, and the anime was ultra stupid. HOWever, the character designs by its creator and manga artist, Takayuki Yamaguchi are great.
The top image is the set up for Karas: Ground Zero. I used another light, a tracing table, which I manipulated by hand as the pic was being taken
The middle image was for Battle Tanker Optimus Prime. It took about 7 shots, but the last two were:
1 with Backfiery (the flying jumping robot attacking Prime) and 1 without Backfiery. This makes it easier when editing in photohop to have the figure above ground.
The cardboard is from a Star Wars dvd display.
The bottom pic is where I placed another lamp used for the Transformers shot. It's placed at an angle similar to the lamp in the mid pic, but on the opposite side (right). Oh yeah, that's Hot Toys classic Predator which my gf gave me for xmas. :-D I'm nearly done with his diorama.
The foamboard tri-fold in the back is my fold out diorama for Black Rock Shooter figures.
