this is one of the room mates carla from michigan, in the tiny kitchen-living room. i was standing looking out from my room (and alex's and laura's) and the entrance to the apartment is on the same wall but out of sight to my left. the main loft (where nichole sleeps) is above the kitchenette. you can see the stairs here.

Interior of our apartment as we see it. No artificial light were used. At 50 ASA setting and f8 to increase the depth of field and finally 2.5 sec exposure. Result you can see all look natural. Flash definitely would have killed the look. I used a stand of course to avoid shaking. This is old style photography using a digital cam.

Yesterday I paid a whole lot of money and was promised that superfast broadband, like I had at my last apartment, great for multi-tasking, would be installed in "less than 5 days." Here's the desk, waiting...... No flickr at home till the magic wires arrive.

This is close to where I live.

This truck is used by the folks who maintain my apartment building's elevators. The logo on the side of the truck says "Chesapeake Crime Cleaners" with a biohazard-like symbol as a logo. In the dashboard is a yellow notepad with the words “OTIS Elevator” scrolled in black marker. So, crime scene cleaners moonlighting as elevator repairmen. It's a little weird.
