Hello, anyone read this here? I decided to make a new flickr to upload more specific photos. I've been experimenting all this time so I've been uploading pictures of all kinds. And I will continue doing it here to feel free that my photographs are of different things, (And because I am an unbearable person). While in the other I will focus only on nature, and the woman on nature.
Thanks for reading if you did. ♥
Day 13: From Húsavík to Neskaupstaður ( passing for Askja indeed) =O)
We left early morning Húsavík, this day we visited the last big waterfall on the trip, Dettifoss.
Then we drived about three hours or more to do only 100 Km, you can imagine the road..., crossing the national park of Askja, with the intention to arrive to the fabulous crater...., no was possible. Iceland won again..., terrific storms coming, winds with beats of force 10, yes 10!! In the last door a guard of the national park " recommend" us, turn back... We lost the last hiking path to the crater of Askja.
Really sad, but we saved it for the next travel to Iceland!! =O)
We no finished the goal, but the images of Askja, will remain always in our memory, OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Enjoy my friends!
A nice weekend ahead for all!!

Fresh from our backyard plum tree. It's a self sown tree and this is the first year it has had a reasonable crop.

I love the green of the tree canopy. It feels safe and reassuring.
I'd like to share the woodland noises too... does anyone know the best (easiest!) way to share a sound clip?
Thanks for looking!
PLEASE, no multi invitations, glitters or self promotion in your comments. My photos are FREE for anyone to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.
This is my last picture for a while, from here I drove back to Halifax non-stop, approx. 3 hours.
This is the Rear Range Light that was built in 1963, there were two range lights but this is the only one still standing. The Front Range Light, was replaced by a skeleton tower in 1991.
This light is on top of a small hill on the Cape Breton side of the Canso Causeway, and beside the Canso Canal.
This is the only lighthouse located in a cemetery in Canada, and probably the world, making it very unique. This area contains six headstones for seven people. The oldest headstone is for Douce Elizabeth Belhache aged 6 years and 8 months who died on July 23, 1795. Other early settlers buried there are James and Christena Skinner, Angus and Jane Grant, Charles Fox and his daughter Mary. She died in 1880 and was the last person buried on the piece of land beside the Causeway known both as Belhache Point and MacMillan’s Point.
Tower Height: 6.7m (22ft)
Light Height: 14m (46ft) above water level
For Sliders Sunday, I had some fun with this pot mum. It's been spherized, twirled and had the colours saturated. Happy Sliders Sunday! HSS!
Thank you for your views and comments, much appreciated! Have a great day!
"Who would imagine there’s an authentic Chinese tea house hugging the Cliff Walk in Newport? Behind the incredible Marble House, at the bottom of its sloping lawn stands this little treasure with incredible views of the Atlantic. Marble House is a gilded era mansion built between 1888 and 1892 and was the summer cottage of Alva and William Vanderbilt. It cost approximately 11 million dollars to build, and it was given to Alva by her husband on her 39th birthday.
After they divorced, she married Oliver H.P. Belmont and became Alva Belmont. She is known as an ardent crusader for women’s equality and gave thousands of dollars to the National Women’s Party to advance women’s rights. After her second husband’s death in 1908, she re-opened Marble House and had the Chinese Tea House built on the cliffs. It was here that she held her rallies for women’s right to vote."

Here’s a look at a stunning Rhode Island hidden gem with an interesting past.
These little chocolates were a Christmas present. There were many unique flavors, but these are 2 of my favorite:)
I prepared an image for yesterdays's SoS theme, but after checking the rules decided it wasn't suitable and posted another. As it's Sunday today, I decided to combine the two - HSS!

The Blue-headed Vireo offers a pleasing palette of moss green, bluish gray, and greenish yellow, set off by bold white “spectacles” (the eyering plus a “loral” spot next to the bill), throat, and belly. The wings and tail are a sharp black and white. Like most larger vireos, Blue-headed forages for insects and their larvae in trees, moving deliberately along branches, where it can be challenging to spot. Males sing a slow, cheerful carol, often the first indication of the species’ presence in a forest. All About Birds
I bought this hand made sculpture in Crete
some 30 years ago as a true 3D
replica of a restored mural in the bronze age palace of Knossos where the scene is set against a blue backdrop which I have tried to recreate here.
Sports, stunt or religion? I suppose we shall never have the exact answer as there are no written records and your imagination is as good as anyone else's. Likewise whether its depicting an aurochs or simply a domesticated bull. Some have maintained that the brown male is a worker, whilst the two white dames belong to the nobilty and so shed light on bronze age class society, and I suppose there is much more to be imagined and uttered.
Remember,
anyone can love you when the
sun is shining... In the storm is
where you learn who truly
cares for you...
"Eat an apple on going to bed, and you'll keep the doctor from earning his bread." – old Victorian Welsh rhyming saying (circa 1860s).
The theme for "Smile on Saturday" for the 28th of June is "fruit on a white background". With this theme, I am allowed to choose real or imitation fruit against an all-white background. Anyone who follows my photostream knows that I love and collect 1:12 size miniatures which I photograph in realistic scenes. The artifice of recreating in minute detail items in 1:12 scale always amazes me, and it’s amazing how the eye can be fooled. Thus I have chosen a selection of my very lifelike looking fruits from my miniatures collection for you today. I hope you like my choice of this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!
The red and yellow tinted apples are made by hand of polymer clay and are hand painted. They came from a specialist miniature supplier in Germany. The remainder of the fruit in this photograph came from Beautifully Handmade Miniatures in Kettering.
Crazy Tuesday theme: something old
this teapot or possibly coffee pot was a gift to my parents when they were married 70 years ago. They are celebrating their 70th Anniversary today. It now belongs to me. The doily was a gift to me from my Oma 42 years ago upon the occasion of my wedding . The coffee spoons were a bought 42 years ago to set up housekeeping in our new home.
Happy Crazy Tuesday!
Thank you for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated.
