This famous area is known for its tourism shops, restaurants, cafes, hotels and marketplace. The building in the center, with flags on top, is the ‘Köln Tourismus GmbH’, which is an information and services center for tourists. It also contains some souvenir shops in the ground floor, one of which is the famous colognes and perfumes brand 4711.
The big building on the shady area to the left side of the ‘Köln Tourismus GmbH’ is the ‘Excelsior Hotel Ernst’ and on the right side is the ‘Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln (WDR); West German Broadcasting Cologne’, which is a German public-broadcasting institution based in the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia with its main office in Cologne.
This is a stand at the Anuga Food International trade exhibition and it belongs to the Indonesian company ‘Indofood’, which is the owner and the producer of the popular instant noodles brand ‘Indomie’.
According to Wikipedia, Indofood is the largest instant noodles producer in the world with 16 factories. Over 15 billion packets of Indomie are produced annually.
Apparently, the company has a wide range of instant food and beverage products including:
- Seven brands of instant noodles,
- Five brands of sauces and seasonings,
- Seven brands of snacks,
- Four brands of baby food and cereals,
- Eight brands of dairy products,
- Three brands of edible oils,
- Four brands of beverages,
- Seven brands of confectionery products
Nevertheless, the ‘Indomie’ noodles took the most share of popularity.
Indomie is exported to more than 90 countries around the world. Indofood's key export markets are Australia, New Zealand, India, Iraq, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, East Timor, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, the United States, Taiwan, Egypt, Syria, and countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Indomie has been produced mainly in Indonesia since it was first introduced in 1972, Indomie has also been produced in Nigeria since 1995. Indomie has also been increasingly popular in Nigeria and other African countries.

ANUGA is an international display-only food exhibition that is held every two years at the Koelnmesse Grounds and organized by Koelnmesse GmbH, having their HQ in Cologne City - Germany. There, you will see a large number of companies exhibiting almost everything food-related in various display styles and stands; either in regular or customized setup. The regular stand is offered by the organizer according to allocated space, while the customized one is completely set up by the exhibitor through outsourcing.
This outstanding, eye-catchy, red-themed customized stand belongs to a company named Lee Kum Kee. They were displaying a wide range of authentic Asian sauces, marinades and seasoning mix to use in cooking. Apparently, its a Hong Kong based company with many overseas branches.
Anuga is a big-deal event for serious food manufacturers and traders.

Chocolate bar Factrory meets Lego. That's the first photo of my newest creation for Klüber Lubrication Munich (KLM). The model was presented to the public for the first time at Anuga FoodTec trade show in cologne (2 weeks ago). All conveyor belts are moving and it looks like the chocolate bar is really made in this little Lego factory
