Anubis, whilst not the most sociable Serval at the Ark, Lincolnshire, did deign to come out for some close up shots. We kept our distance however! Beautiful but extremely feisty.
Not the friendliest or the most sociable Serval, but who can blame him!! he can turn on the charm with that eye contact though!

The Ark in Lincolnshire has one goal, to rescue and rehabilitate animals mainly from the exotic pet trade, fur trade and ex laboratory animals. This Serval was rescued from the pet trade.

The Egyptian god of embalming, Anubis - famous for his jackal-head - in two versions. The small one is made of bronze and (probably) dates to the 26th century, while the larger one is made of the stone diorite and dates to the reign of Amenhotep III, his name can be read on the piece (this pharaoh is perhaps most famous for being the father of Akhenaten - he reigned in the 18th dynasty). So even though these two statues are very, very similar, they are actually some 800 years apart.

The Olive Baboon (Papio anubis), also called the Anubis baboon, is a member of the family Cercopithecidae (Old World monkeys). It inhabits savannahs, steppes, and forests. The common name is derived from its coat color, which is a shade of green-grey at a distance. The Olive Baboons of Africa are one of the most successful primate species in the wild today.
They are found in large numbers on the African savannahs and in forests steppe. Their close-knitted social lifestyle is a key factor enabling them to survive the harsh lands of Africa.

The origin of his name is reported in connection with the Osiris myth: As crown prince (Inpu), who is in his bandages (imiut), Nephthys (for Isis) hid him. This is how his name Anubis came about. I would show an another - my fourth - hand made graphics, which is about the demon champion again. Despite of his appereance is more static, the design of Sabbac is farmore realistic than before. Besides of nothing wrong had happened with the members of I.M.P., I wanted a friendlier graphic, so I designed Anubis also, with whom he seemed to get on well.
