Concept: The question of (antropomorphic) Beauty is always a statistical averaging of the cultural tastes the Collective Eye has (in mild terms). The place where this definition of Beauty starts to flip over to Ugliness is also pretty much commonly accepted (it's boundaries). Now: if we fall in love with Beauty, what applies for Ugliness? Hate? Or just plain Fear?
Background: As far as I'm concerned the process of admiration (in love) is a consequence of us not being whole, the self searching for patching materia. But fear, on the other hand, is exactly the opposite: a reaction to the possibility that we might be losing a part of ourselves. And if Beauty or the opposite Ugliness (still a term we coined, synthetic "idiots") are derived from the foundations that nurture Love or Hate (again an artificial couple) and if the statement of cultural cause is taken into account, does that mean people love or hate within a mediated spectrum of options? My take: sure does (choosing one school of thought here and leaving space for other interpretations).
Manipulation info: a shot of some wooden planks was overlayed on my Bojana (after swaping her Beauty with a liquified and brushed Horror;)). Then the fingers were added and slightly optimized. Hope you like it;)

Aquí estamos junto a sinuosos recorridos por el río Ebro y llegamos a la iglesia rupestre de Santa María de Valverde, en el municipio de Valderrible (Cantabria), situada en la época de los siglos VII al XIII.
Iglesia excavada en la roca y todavía con culto religioso; al lado podemos visitar el Centro de Interpretación de la Arquitectura Rupestre.

The rock architecture in the Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia) and Valderrible (Cantabria) regions is very extensive and varied.
Here, we are next to winding routes through the Ebro river and we arrive at the rock church of Santa María de Valverde, in the municipality of Valderrible (Cantabria), located in the period between the 7th and 13th centuries.
Church carved into the rock and still with religious worship; next to it we can visit the Interpretation Center of the Rupestrian Architecture.
Before you know it, your baby lamp post is out of the house on his own, working the night shift in some parking garage. He doesn't call anymore, and when he does it's just for money to replace his bulb. But he's still your baby. Always and forever.

A little story behind this photo:
This doll made of wires is another skill I developed since I was a little kid. It all started when I took a few colored wires, "leftovers" from a relative who worked for an electric company. Then I started to make these antropomorphic creatures. Some were an attempt to resemble tv characters like Spiderman or Mazinger-Z. Others were simply a mixed of weird characters from my imagination. Too bad I gave away most of these homemade toys, mostly relatives or kids I knew. To this day, how I learned this, still remains a mystery to me. Remember I am a 70's kid, way before internet! Now, as an adult, I've figured out that, when you can paint, take pictures, make handicrafts and film all that well... there's must be a purpose :D . Recently, I got an old used book (black & white pictures and all) on things you can create using wires and others materials. This book caught my eye, since it was an approach "the old fashioned way."

Watching these forks, I thought to a pair of crossed hands, so is a short step for the connection with the Simpsons show :)
I used natural light for the forks adding an sb-600 @1/64 to burn the background.
In PP I worked on the contrasts.

I actually was trying to build a female antropomorphic sheep, but not sure if she really looks like that. Х)

Bor the Wolf is a character from the long-running Dutch puppetry TV series Fabeltjeskrant/The Fables Newspaper (1968 - 1992, Cock Andreoli). Unlike his fellow wolves, Bor is a peaceful and emotional animal. Bor is known for his distinctive, howling roar that precedes many of his statements. Bor had a central role in the feature film Onkruidzaaiers in Fabeltjesland/Weedsowers in Fableland (1970, Cock Andreoli) when all the animals are off on their annual picnic, except for Bor and just then an army of termites invades the peaceful forest.
Dutch voice actor Ger Smit (1933 - 2012) gave Bor his voice. Smit died earlier this week at 14 September in Vorden, The Netherlands. He also dubbed other popular animals of Fabeltjeskrant such as Ed Bever, Lowieke de Vos and Zoef de Haas. The other main voice actors of he series were Frans van Dusschoten and Elsje Scherjon. Smit acted earlier as Mak with Donald Jones as Mik in the legendary Dutch youth series Mik-Mak (1962-1963, Guus Verstraete) about two tramps . Later he was seen in films like Paul Verhoeven's successful feature film debut Wat zien ik/Business is Business (1971, Paul Verhoeven) and on TV in the popular soap series Goede tijden, slechte tijden/Good Times Bad Times (1994-1999). As a voice actor, he also worked on TV series like Sesamstraat/ Sesame Street, Lucky Luke and De Smurfen/The Smurfs. Tomorrow, 19 September, Ger Smit will be buried in Amsterdam.
Fabeltjeskrant (or De Fabeltjeskrant, Dutch for The Fables Newspaper) is a Dutch children's television series featuring puppetry and stop motion. Created in 1968 by Leen Valkenier and produced by Thijs Chanowski (1st series) and Loek de Levita (2nd series), it ended in 1989 and was broadcast on the Dutch channels NOS, RTL 4 and RTL 8 and on Belgian channel VRT. From 1973 to 1975 it was broadcast also in the United Kingdom, on ITV, with the title The Daily Fable. In Europe, it was also on TV in France as :Le petit écho de la Forêt/The Little Echo of the Forest, in Hungary as Fabulácskahírek/ The Fables Newspaper, in Italy as Il bosco dei perché/The Wood of the Questions, in Norway as Fablenes bok/The book of Fables, and Sweden as Fablernas värld/World of Fables.
Fabeltjeskrant was a daily recurring short program of 4- 5 minutes. Each episode is based upon fables of Jean de La Fontaine, Aesop, Phaedrus and also by the series' scenographer Leen Valkenier. The main character, the owl Meneer de Uil (Mr. Owl), introduces each episode reading a fable to other characters upon a tree. The scene is a forest inhabited by different antropomorphic paper. In 2005 Fabeltjeskrant was voted Best Children's Program of All Time in the Netherlands. At IMDb, Charmed Margeaux writes: "The fabeltjeskrant was like, the show everyone watched and knew. It has been showed to a few generations, and you won't find a single Belgian or Dutch person who hasn't seen at least a minute of this show. I grew up with it, but so did my brothers, and that's not so normal since they are 8 and 12 years older than me, and we all enjoyed it. Now, reruns are being shown on some stations and I think it's one of the best shows for little children, even now you have really soffisticated ones, I assure you, they'll love it! "
