Arco de Santa Catalina.
Situado en la ciudad de Antigua, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.
Pertenecía a las monjas reclusas del convento de Santa Catalina Virgen y Mártir, pero tras el traslado forzoso de la capital de la Capitanía General de Guatemala de Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala a la Nueva Guatemala de la Asunción, como consecuencia de los terremotos de 1773, la estructura quedó abandonada.
El arco fue reacondicionado en la década de 1890 y se construyó sobre él una torrecilla para colocar un reloj.

Antigua Guatemala, commonly referred to as Antigua or la Antigua, is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala. The city is famous for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture as well as a number of ruins of colonial churches. This panorama offers an example of one of those ruins. Antigua served as the capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a short flight plus drive from Miami.

Central America's moving monument. The wonderfully named "chicken bus" is a repurposed American icon. These weren't built for jungle routes; they were once familiar yellow school buses, sold off and shipped to Central America. There, they're given a vibrant, second life, rolling public transport. Often carrying everything and everyone, chickens included!
Antigua is one of the 2 major islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Ringed with coral reefs, the island is known for its many sandy beaches. Set along English Harbour, restored Nelson’s Dockyard, which Admiral Horatio Nelson made his base in the 1780s, includes a marina and the Dockyard Museum. Antigua's beguiling beauty starts to seduce the moment you arrive.
