What happens when two critical thinkers walk into a den of malicious misrepresentation of fiction as fact?
We're going to the Creation Museum for some...anthropological reconnaissance into a group that maliciously promotes 'creation science' as science. Answers in Genesis, the "think" tank behind this demonstrative structure, does not use any scientific reasoning and is successful only in their efforts to undermine critical thinking.
I recommend finding student rate coupons for 50% off, to minimize you contribution to this criminal monument to bold face fiction.
A comment on the photographic quality: here's the thing...I can take crisper, more well balanced pictures. This museum was hopping and we didn't want to spend more time in there than necessary. So, I hope I made up for the sub-par quality of the images with clever commentary.

Let the fun begin!
The 1980 eruption spewed debris all over the North Fork Toutle River. It has been cutting its way through the pile of ash, pumice, and other volcanic remnants for 32 years now.
It's amazing to see a landscape in such transition. It's so amazing that Creationists use Mount St. Helens as proof that the earth is only a few thousands of years old. If this river could erode this much in 32 years, then surely the world's major geologic features could be created in five or six thousand.
Get statistics from a fascinating and concise summary of the destruction from the 1980 eruption.

This hike is described in the Hummocks Trail hike description by the Washington Trails Association.
didja know that piranhas have a close relative called the pacu that only eats plants? didja also know that the reputation of the piranha as a meat-devouring beast extraordinaire is overblown?
In case you are wondering - this is a Xiphactinus Audux - a 12 1/2 foot, half ton fish. I would hate to get that hooked up on my line.

Trilobite technology Incredible lens engineering in an 'early' creature. www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v21/i1/trilobite.asp "Throughout the past century there has always existed a significant minority of first-rate biologists who have never been able to bring themselves to accept the validity of Darwinian claims. In fact, the number of biologists who have expressed some degree of disillusionment is practically endless."
Carl Kerby (from "Answers in Genesis") was the speaker at the Fall Crusade for the First Baptist Church in Princeton Indiana.
At the Creation Museum's petting zoo, they have a zebra-horse and zebra-donkey mule. This shows the creationist taxonomy system of baraminology, which describes how life does not share a common ancestor. Rather, God brought forth various "kinds" which can interbreed with each other, but did not come from the same primordial ooze. For example, donkeys and zebras were created from the horse "kind" via natural selection.
Visit the Creation Museum half an hour west of Cincinnati, Ohio. (If you don't agree with it, then you won't be learning "truth." But you will be learning what creationists believe, so you'll come away with something you didn't know before.)
Which is... Evolution :)
Teach the (3%) controversy on evolution! Or not.
Good people, know that creationists are peddling a dishonest and corrupt agenda. It is intellectually bankrupt. The controversy they seek to push is regarded by around 97 percent of observers of reality, as bogus. DON'T take my word for it, get educated from many sources, not just one. Don't be a lazy thinker :)
The world famous Wollemi Pine as seen in Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. What's so special about it? A popular theory would have you believe it lived 150 million or so years ago. How is it that it was discovered alive in 1994 in a wilderness 150km from Sydney? The theory of evolution certainly falls short in explaining this as it does many other things. God told Noah to build the Ark so people could be saved from the flood. He sealed the door so there would be no leaks. God (Abba Father) sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, so that we may be saved. Jesus is waiting for you to know Him.

This reminded me of the 90s TV series "American Gothic". I'll bet 'ol Lucas Buck would have had a field day here!
