My husband and I celebrated our anniversary this week and he gave me a lovely bouquet of roses. I decided to break out my macro lens and table top light and practice some still life photography. This was my favorite from the attempt.
Jean and I celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary on Monday, October 3rd. I call this Jean's half life anniversary because she's put up with me for exactly half of her life so far. We decided we needed to get away so we took a trip to Prescott, Arizona, a couple of hours North of us. We spent 3 days doing lots of great hiking and birding. Here are Jasper and Jean hiking in the amazing granite dells of Willow Lake.

I remember our wedding like yesterday, so many years have passed... with many pounds later, lots of wrinkles and gray hair and in David's case, a loss of hair...
but we are so very blessed with a beautiful family and three amazing grandchildren...
Life is good and I hope it continues for many, many more years to come!!!

When my wonderful husband say to me, "what do you want to do for our anniversary" … well, he is smiling big time as he already knows the answer … go to the wild horses. :) (he is amazing)
Wild horses are not the ONLY thing we see out their in the wild. This elk graced our view for about 10 seconds as he raced across the prairie … almost hunting season … go hide big hide, go hide!

Last year, in early March, I had a few days of great encounters with black phoebes over at Koll wetlands. Hoping for similar opportunities in a few weeks!
Apologies for my absence, life is busy at the moment! I can't believe this is 32 years ago, where does the time go? Neither of us like having our photo taken but you can't really escape that on your wedding day, can you???

Wedding anniversary is a special day that reminds of us of the happy and romantic wedding day. No matter good or bad, we two made it through the days and we should always be thankful to life with immense ups and downs in our space 😊🙏
David gave me the little redhead before we were married. A niece gave him the "40 isn't old if you're a tree" when he turned 40 ... long ago now! I've never put them together before but I think they look so cute together.

Today marks 80 years since the first historic flight of this iconic plane around Southampton Water. The sound is no longer the same but the shape is certainly recognisable to most people. There should be at least one flight today around the original route to mark the occasion but the weather won't be good so they did this extra flight yesterday under blue skies just in case. I took this from the Itchen Bridge but the plane was still too high for my lens, just wanted to mark the occasion.

One year.
It's been one year since I started this adventure on Flickr, and with my camera. It's been an amazing journey, with setbacks, challenges, frustrations; but also with achievements, satisfaction, and most of all, with joy. I have learned a lot with all of you, on board this ship where we always have something to learn and something to offer. So, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you very much for your company and your images and your encouraging words for each other. And let the adventure go on!

Yup, on November 4 is Tidda's second adoption anniversary!
I expected one year of trouble as we adjust to each other and heal her traumatized soul, but it took two years.
I'm happy to report that the surgery for her hip dysplasia has been a great success! However, just as Tidda was 85% recovered and starting to trot and run again, she sprained her knee on her OTHER leg! That set her back a bit, but it's only a sprain and slowly getting better. These things can happen. The vet is very happy with her progress. She walked calmly right into the clinic - I used to have to carry her because she would be so terrified.
Tidda has come a long, long way and is eager to enjoy the sweetness of life! :)
Since I don't know her birthday, I consider this her birthday also and that means she is now 7 years old.
Well Australia's special day, ANZAC Day is also our special day.
I must never forget!!!
