My old Leica M8 taken with the Leica M Monochrome plus the (very old) Leitz Elmar 4/135. There was a time, some years ago, when I had given my favourite camera (then, a Fuji X-Pro 3) a personal name. I noticed that I had a tendency of attributing personal qualities to things. My old Mini had a name. Even today our telephone is called "Olga". My hand-made Italian racing bike was "female" in character. And, here, with this object photo, you have a bit of visual voyeurism or, even, fetishism. Is matter really animated, do things have a mind of "their own"? Or are we talking here of projections - us giving agency to things. Whatever it is, it is great fun when you think you can talk to your camera. And you may always have the last laugh.

I know this isn't the scientific meaning of suspended animation but the phrase seemed so apt for a title. This little happening occurred by my garden gate - a spiders web strung out like a miniature trampoline between small stones, a few millimetres from the ground and water droplets had formed on the web, glistening like pearls - suspended, yes, and animated by their very formation in that energy between cold, heat and moisture, yes, that too!
Well, anyway, regardless of my un-rock and roll attire of boiler suit and wellies I had to get my camera and macro lens. This was my favourite out of a few that I took, a little post processing and here we are!

Today I watched a grown man throw a temper tantrum. Isn't it funny how some people keep with them the best qualities of childhood, while others keep the worst? I wonder what childlike qualities I still have. And what you still have.
Split my animated fire into frames. Cubed each frame with dumpr and re-animated in Gimp. I could have done this entirely in Gimp, but used dumpr so I could do it quickly. Several people could not see the animation, so I put it in below.
There is an excellent tutorial series (8 parts) by CBaileyFilm about how to make a sci-fi movie in Blender.
Unfortunately my computer isn't up to that task, but I did learn a lot from it and used some of things I learned to make the above low poly animation.
