The Angel of the North, at the only angle it would all fit on the screen with my lens.

 

The Angel of the North stands just off the A1, near Gateshead, in Tyne and Wear, England.

 

The sculpture, by Antony Gormley, is 66ft tall and 178ft across, with its huge wingspan dominating the skyline for miles around.

 

It is made of steel and weighs more than 100 tons, with construction finished in 1998.

Stone support columns, horizontal windows, angular rooflines. Great midcentury residential. Built in 1957.
