Suddenly today, the garden seems over-run with flapping young Blue Tits and their frantic parents.
These two were making a proper racket.
The Blue-gray gnatcatcher is among the first birds to arrive in the North during spring. I found these guys rather late in the season this year but luckily a cooperative one.
This fieldfare stared angrily at my camera — seems like it didn't want to be photographed! (Bielefeld, Germany)
This angry-looking bird is a Black-headed Batis (Batis minor) photographed in the Rift Valley in Ethiopia. This one's a male with his black breastband. Females are similar but have a chestnut breastband. The name Batis comes from Aristotle who used it for a bird that ate caterpillars and worms but was never identified.
They always look so angry. It think it's their yellow beady eyes and the way their black beak appears from their blue head..
I appreciate each and every visit, comment and fave here on my little corner of the world as seen through my lens.
I posted an image of this Black-crowned Night Heron a while back. This image shows a different perspective showing its crossed mandibles - he still looks very angry. I was a long way off, so he was not angry at me - just life in general I guess !!
Hi "L" for a closer look.
Northern Cardinal
The adult male is a brilliant crimson red color with a black face mask over the eyes, extending to the upper chest.
The female is fawn-colored, with mostly grayish-brown tones and a slight reddish tint on the wings, crest, and tail feathers. The face mask of the female is gray to black and is less defined than that of the male.
The cardinal is named after cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church, who wear distinctive red robes and caps. The term "northern" in the common name refers to its range, as it is the northernmost cardinal species known.

This looks like a very angry owl, however, this snowy was simply yawning. The photo, from a shoot a couple of seasons ago, took place on a remote portion of the NJ shore. The day was quite cold an windy. No one else seemed ready to spend the day outside, so the bird and I had the better part of the day alone. I laid on the beach for hours. If the bird slept, so did I. It only moved 2 or 3 times over about an 8 hour period and my Arctic gear came in handy.
The mood is changing. This word is appearing more and more on buildings these days. For people struggling to keep a roof over their own heads things can only get worse. Unfortunately the gap between the rich and poor is widening faster than at any time in history. Something has to give!
* No comments today. I want people to LOOK, READ and THINK.
Even Karl the fog got angry with the smoke and ash in the air.
(Karl is the name of the fog in San Francisco.)
breaking your fall from grace
killing this empty space
like the thorn in your side
it puts the dent in your pride
no one believes you now
it caught up with you somehow
and you wonder what your feeling
will it never be the same?...

Every time I'm in the neighborhood and I visit what's left of the FV Point Reyes, the sea has claimed a little bit more of her... Probably didn't help when some morons thought it would be a good idea to twirl lit steel wool on her deck in the middle of the night...
