Had a play around with the settings on my camera to create this 'aged' effect. The typical 1970's 'orange' processed look.

Angler's Retreat, or Wintersett as it is known. A beautiful place created from old opencast mining, now destined to have the new HS2 link running closely by. It is a bird sanctuary and I do wonder how much of an impact the new line will have vs the benefits of getting the commuters from Leeds to London on their journeys shortened by only a few minutes!

I took these to see how she looked in different angles, IMO she's very photogenic. I do think I need to work on her eyewells though. Hmm. Anyway, I gave her a silly watercolour faceup just so she wasn't blank, because she's so pretty.

One of 15 laminated wood bridges built between 1856 and 1876, this bridge over the Gawler River is the only remaining example. Suffering from rot and white ants the bridge has been replaced by a concrete structure just to the west.

Located in the main lobby of Toronto City Hall, the Metropolis mural was installed in 1977. It won an art competition in 1974, which was held specifically to select City Hall’s permanent piece.

Created from 100,000 common nails, the mural is made up of nine panels, which weigh approximately 180 kilograms (396 pounds). The circle of massed copper nails in the center represents the heart, or downtown core, of the city.

The artist is David Partridge. Originally from Akron, Ohio, Mr. Partridge came to Canada in 1944. He studied at the University of Toronto, and also at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

The Angle Building, Shelton, WA, October 2013. When I first took this picture I thought it was too shadowed to be interesting, but once I saw a larger image I see three things that I like. The lighted "Angle" sign, the two walking figures, one of which is a metal sculpture, and the view through the corner window on the far left.

Infrared balance adjusted until the red on the strap looked right.

Using the SlipKnot with the Anglers Anchor Rod to land a spoonbill.

Most of our king salmon anglers fish with fly rods, however, spinning rods work as well. Our streams are not so huge you cannot fish from shore.

Just following the first control. From left to right:

- flash and camera in axis,

- 45° left ( a bit over the subject),

- Seeing the subject as the flash sees it!

- Something a bit different (120° right, high on the subject)

Decided to have a little fun tonight with some overhead shots with the wide angle lens; I thought since Zoey can sit up for a bit now on her own that shots with her looking up would be cool. To have a little more fun I used one of my sb-600 flashes off camera (via my left hand) and put my seldom used Interfit Strobies mini beauty dish (it's only about 8" in size so it needs to be relatively close to have any decent results, it was cheap so for fun shoots like this it is worth it).

D700, 17-35mm f/2.8 @ 22mm, f/3.2, iso 200, sb-600 through mini beauty dish camera left (think I had it at 1/8th power).

I thought about this shoot a lot. It's the first time I've gone back and redone a shoot and I've got to say I am really displeased with it. It's not that I didn't enjoy the shoot, but the overall feeling when I finished wasn't what I had hoped for. The other shoots I did all were really fun and had some sort of theme going on. This one felt very shallow. I'd love to have taken it outdoors and into the city, but I am pleased with the post-processing, so at least there's that.

**Oh, and the one thing I DID enjoy with this shoot was the lighting. Some of the shadows I got were pretty cool.

i'm not usually one for photoshopping my photos, but liked this result
