I was searching for a recipe for caelacanth soup. I had confused the ancient fish for the ugly-looking root vegetable, celeriac; for some reason, I can seldom remember what it's called. In any event, caelacanth is inedible.
Of course, I wandered off the thread while trying to recall what this vegetable is called and I found a whole bunch of pictures on my G drive, labelled 'partially uploaded', whatever that means. It does mean that the file is quite small, so I thought it would be fun to have a play with it, using Nomacs Image Lounge. While Nomacs is an open source viewer, it has some embedded tools for image manipulation.
As you might notice, this is from 2019 - I have always been intrigued by cranes. This is a construction site near Kings Cross Station in London.
This is the former YMCA building on China Street, Lancaster.
You can see somebody else's closeup of the lettering, here:

The building was derelict for a decade and then converted into student apartments.
The actual door and the way the ground floor windows are used are, IMHO, unimaginative and sub-par. There are holes in the lintel for a light - so why not fix one? Especially when those steps are so worn.
Vegetable soup with gnocchi.
Comforting and nutritious. Just how mother made it.
A glass of Sicilian rosato completed it all.
A room without plants is a dead space to me. So getting this pelargonium to do anything other than keel over has been a great satisfaction. The flowers just appeared overnight.
Re-potting all my plants a fortnight ago seems to be what they all wanted. The echevaria has done so well it produced 6 pups, which are now in troughs.
I don't have a garden and window-boxes appear to be verboten, so this will have to do.
Come September i shall return to harvest sloes from these jaw thorn bushes. They flavor gin wonderfully and if there are enough i will make some jam, too.
The sounds of the birds, trolling and war bling overhead, was so beautiful. When there are no predators nearby they go into full throated singing mode.
A Victorian wall box. Graffiti applied while paint still fresh. A pity really. It's not even interesting.
Sackville College is a Jacobean almshouse in East Grinstead. It was founded in 1609 with money left by Robert Sackville, 2nd Earl of Dorset. Throughout its history it has provided sheltered accommodation for the elderly.
I discovered a branch of Wendy's during my trip to Blackpool. I'm not a fan of fast food, but the square patties and decent fries from Wendy's have always attracted me.
I thought Wendy's had gone out of business, but clearly I am wrong.
And the company logo is just charming!
Today I helped with the catering for a lady's 90th birthday tea. What a fabulous afternoon, full of laughter and smiles all around.
This posy was left on my counter top. What a gorgeous color is that rose!
My camera hasn't caught the real hue of this flower. I'd say IRL it is indigo.
List to Nina Simone explain it here:
A triangulation point, or trig point, consists of a concrete or stone pillar, typically around 1.2 meters high, with a brass plate on top. This plate, often called a "spider," has three arms and a central depression for mounting a surveying instrument like a theodolite. There should be a plug in the middle, to prevent ingress of dirt and water that could interfere with the theodolite - this one is missing (probably taken as a souvenir).
This old photographic shop has closed. Preston or Kendal are the closest places to go for supplies. or take a punt online. The modern way of business I guess.
Blackburn Cathedral, officially known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary the Virgin with Saint Paul, is an Anglican (Church of England) cathedral situated in the heart of Blackburn town centre, in Lancashire, England. The cathedral site has been home to a church for over a thousand years and the first stone church was built there in Norman times.

The butterfly is one of the symbols for ADHD. Like many people with ADHD, I wonder if she is wondering what she is meant to be doing next. It is often a feeling that is so overwhelming that one ends up doing nothing at all.
