The Fullerton Hotel by Singapore River.

Taken, January 2012.

The Fullerton Hotel has a beautiful architectural design. Restoration works were completed approximately around the year 2000. The bridge in the foreground and flanking the right side of the image is Cavenagh Bridge. Cavenagh Bridge is a suspension bridge for pedestrians. Anderson Bridge is the bridge on the left side of the image and it is a vehicular bridge. Both bridges span across Singapore River.

Singapore's Central Business District and the Singapore River

Singapore

December 2022

I am posting a set of two images (Between two worlds I and II); one captured during the later part of the morning blue hour and the other captured less than a minute before sunrise. The two images were captured about 5 minutes apart. Geographically, Singapore is located very near the equator so we do not get a lengthy blue hour - we probably get to experience maximally about 25 minutes of good blue hour light.

"Between two worlds I" was taken during the morning blue hour.

Named after an early Governor of the Straits Settlements, this bridge over the lower Singapore River was opened in 1910. This greatly alleviated congestion from the port traffic generated as Singapore became the major trade centre in the region. More recent highway and bridge construction now sees Anderson's join with Cavenagh Bridge to cater only for pedestrian use.

While I was doing my timelapse thing on the bridge (several weeks ago), some other people saw the amazing sunset and were also trying to set up a timelapse, but without a tripod they were trying to prop their phone up on random objects like bananas. So, I ended up lending them my tiltpod that I always keep in my purse.

The Anderson Bridge was opened in 1910 and provided a critical link between the civic and commercial districts in Singapore's Downtown area.

The bridge comprises three steel arches with supporting steel ribs extending across them, two rusticated archways and a fluted pier at each end.

Only one side of the bridge is now used for vehicles, with developments undertaken in the last few years closing one side.

The bridge also forms a narrow section of the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Anderson Bridge is a vehicular bridge that spans across the Singapore River. It is located near the river's mouth in the Downtown Core Planning Area of Singapore's Central Area.

The bridge was completed in 1910, and was named after the Governor of the Straits Settlements and High Commissioner for the Federated Malay States (1904–1911), Sir John Anderson, who officially opened the bridge on 12 March 1910. It forms part of the Singapore Grand Prix's Marina Bay Street Circuit, which debuted on 28 September 2008.

Beautiful night with bridge view

Was inspired by ShutterBugL's The Three Bridges to visit the Anderson Bridge. And I realised I never ever taken a picture of that bridge before.
