We at the We’re Here! Group are always a little wacky, but today – in honor of National Almond Day – we are going Nuts.

Nearly every ancient civilization used almonds. By 4,000 B.C. people were cultivating almond trees, which blossomed well in the lands surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. Today, the state of California is the biggest producer of the world’s supply of almonds.

With climate change upon us water is becoming more and more precious. California will have to deal with some hard choices, but I fear the forces of commerce will push rational decisions out into the future until disasters make them for us.
