I took a bunch of boats in the harbor captures while in Maine ... and I think this may be my favorite of those captured while in Lubec, Maine. Really liked the diffused soft lighting at this time, and then the alignment of the boats and that nice big yellow float. It was fun moving along the shoreline to line up the boats, and then wait for them to maneuver around in the wind so they were not blocking each other.

The anchors, by the way, have nothing to do with boats. They were used to anchor the huge complexes of nets which trapped the tuna.

.......and lets go to somewhere warmer.

ps. Why do they always say "Way Anchor"....don't they know how heavy it is?.

the large thick roots of a Moreton Bay Fig tree (Ficus macrophylla) native to Eastern Australia, they have an extensive surface root system. In nature it's a strangler fig, seeds dropped by birds germinate in the canopy of a host tree, it then grows as an epiphyte while sending down roots to ground level, eventually enlarging and enveloping the host tree and becoming a free standing tree by itself.
