It's about how theory distorts the creative processes themselves. I'm also protesting the elevation of ugliness to a form of high art - not really a separate issue of course.
My post processing analysis leads me to believe that I should have taken this photo at a little higher elevation. By doing so I would have captured more of the stream. But then it may have competed too much with the subject. I'm not crazy about the sky. I could fix it by adding a sky from my archives, but it is what it is. This is the way the day was. Cold and overcast. So thats the way the sky should be. Its a simple photo of a simple scene. Not an award winner by any means. More of a documentary of what I did and where I was, and what it was like.
I think the mundane has the potential delve deeper into your soul than a stunning colorful image. They please for the moment, eye candy if you may. Beautiful but shallow. Whereas a moody photo can strike a chord deep inside that resonates with lost feeling looking for an avenue of expression.
Since I visit quite often, the deer at our local forest preserve are becoming more trusting and comfortable with my presence. In fact, some of them have even begun coming to me for help with their troubles and anxieties.
