Looking over the stone breakwater and across the bay at the refinery in Anacortes, Washington.

Apparently this is a 1909 Barney & Smith sleeper car. Information is from other Flickr members. I hope no one has slept in this abandoned rail car for a long time. Would love to have seen the inside, but we're too old to be climbing barbed wire fences. It's sitting all by itself in a field outside of Anacortes, Washington.

This is a shot that is the result of a little low level skulking around on a pebbled beach near Anacortes. The Killdeer are a variety of the Ringed Plover and as I found out with this one they are reasonably tame. What struck me was the beautiful bright ring to its eye.

Our first night in Anacortes, we ate at a restaurant at the Marina. We sat on the patio where they had a fireplace burning and blankets for us to drape over our shoulders - very nice!
