Replaced the stock rubber feet of the Cayin LA34 with these aluminum feet. Rubber feet are good for solid state amps but not on tube amps that are heavy and generate extreme heat.
The dimension of the new aluminum feet is the same with the stock feet, except i had to drill the hole a tad bigger each to fit in the stock screw.
I noticed a significant sonic improvement.
one of the benefits of working on audio projects is being able to justify splurging on audio test equipment that is also great for parties!
(note the "uhh what do i have in my box that will convert mono 1/4 to stereo 1/8?" adapter party)

Tripath TA2024 based amplifier. Bought it as a "kit" - almost everything is pre-soldered except the speaker connections. Mounted it on a scrap piece of poplar trim.
Tobacco tin amplifier. Runs on 9v battery, has gain control (more distortion) and in built speaker and an output socket for external speaker, on/off switch and LED.
It was a challenge to light this as I wanted. It's not perfect but I'm pretty pleased with the result. Shot using available light from a big window on a overcast morning. I used a bit of fill flash by placing a white sheet on a frame just in front of the amp, leaning right back, and bounced a 430EXII at 24mm zoom off it via ETTL with a slight under-expose compensation. I had two Yongnuo strobes in slave mode illuminating the white paper background. I used bulb setting with a radio trigger and tried various exposure lengths. This one was at 1/10 s at f/8. I slightly pulled back the exposure of the orange dial in Lightroom using The adjustment brush and in Photoshop I used the bucket tool to fill the background with pure white.
This is my amplifier. I'm really happy with the way this turned out. This is a longer exposure at 1.6 seconds.
