A sand bank in the Anavilhanas National Park (76 km from Manaus) - Over the last months, the main rivers that compose the Amazon basin, and the western Solimões river in particular, have been going through a strong drought. Figures from the Brazilian Geological Institute show that the levels of the rivers have been following the curve of the worst ebbs.

We've read them before and recently found three of them again at the library. This photo and the rest we have tagged with the Gaskins are meant to point out what makes us keep coming back for more: a jack-of-all-trades, maps and wayfinding, intertextuality, and ubicomp (or pervasive computing, ambient intelligence, everyware, spimes).
The Amazon is often very wide.
