Nikon D7000 & ASM2 Movie App

with great power, comes great responsibility!

THis edit took a while. many many layers on danbo to add the spidey skin. Then added him to a the birmingham city backdrop (view out my window at work). More layers added to blend and tone spidey into the back, levels adjustments and toning/colouring to add glow from the clouds. I added the cloud reflection in his eyes and draw on the web using the pen tool

Quite pleased with the result. :)

Hasbro Marvel Legends Electro (Retro) & Spider-Man (Renew Your Vows)

Marvel legends black costume (symbiote) Spider-man. From the red Hulk baf wave.

We are reading through Marvel chronologically (Because that's fun!) and when we get to Spidey 29 in October 1965, what do we see? Stan Lee always tried to make everything about the comic fun, including his winks and nods to the readers on the splash page credits. And who is featured?

It's our Flickr friend Andrew P. Yanchus! He's coloring and, perhaps, clowning with the bullpen. We hope he's clowning because we're not sure what "clowing" would be. 😄

If you haven't discovered Andrew's stream, you'll be delighted to follow him as it is day after day of vibrant, four color, nostalgic goodness in toys, comics, magazines, greeting cards... you name it! 😊

As an aside, our copy of ASM 29 is in Marvel's digital format where they overly digitally process everything. We include page 12 in the collage above in its original separation glory.

I imagine pencillers and inkers aren't always happy with the loss of detail in the digital processing that a lot of the older comics are going through, but it seems to hit the colorists the worst.

Not a fancy picture but hopefully a funny one.

I initially had posed both Spidey figures back to back, but since I was using only one flash, the light bounced back from the wall only hit either of them and left the other one too dark. So I took similar shots with the flash once bounced towards original Spidey and again on Black Spidey, then I cut and pasted one onto the other in Photoshop CS2.

NOTE on Live View on EOS 40D: It sucks the battery dry. =)
