A thrilling jeep ride through winding forest trails leading to the misty Mandalpatti peak in Coorg. The journey is bumpy yet exciting, surrounded by lush greenery and rolling clouds. As you reach the top, the fog wraps around you, revealing breathtaking views that feel straight out of a dream ✨
Last night, from my terrace I witnessed the mesmerizing blood moon during a lunar eclipse. A rare celestial dance painted in shades of crimson and mystery 🌕🌒✨
As the sun was going down at the Cheesering on Bodmin Moor it was obvious that bank of cloud was not going anywhere. Just thickening if anything so we just sat and waited as as I knew.. err hoped it would become wedged like a star between the land and those clouds. By this time only two other people remained sitting not far from us just watching the spectacle as we were...
I am not an experienced landscape photographer so it’s a good job I had plenty of time to choose the best options for this shot but even then I could not balance the brightness and shadows successfully to my satisfaction.
I tried hard grads, soft grads and stacked grads..no good.
This is a blend of three shots...
One for the top, one for the middle and one for the foreground rocks. Impossible without a tripod so I’m pleased I took it along.
Well Jonathan took it along actually like the gentleman he is..
The same place as the previous shot as that was my preferred composition.
The Cheesewring is a short walk (approx. 1½ km the north) across the moor. On a clear day its distinct shape can be seen from most parts of the Minions moor - standing on the edge of the Cheesewring Quarry. Its shape has been the subject of many debates; the result of weather erosion on the granite strata of the moor over many years. From the Cheesewring the views across the Cornish countryside and into Devon are nothing less than stunning on a clear day.
This year we have been hit by the particularly heavy and persistent fogs in Hong Kong. It was early in the morning and the sun was nowhere in sight. I thought that this colorful ferry could add some life to the otherwise greyish image.

This year we have been hit by the particularly heavy and persistent fogs in Hong Kong. It is early in the morning and the sun is nowhere in sight. The Victoria Peak has completely been engulfed in fog. It is an amazing experience just watching the changing scene of Victoria Harbour with the fog drifting along the coast and mingling among the high-rise buildings. I thought that the iconic Star Ferry of Hong Kong could add a touch of liveliness to the rather greyish background in the image.

This was a simply amazing experience - the lights were dancing all around, covering the whole sky - an unforgettable night!
Another photograph of the Total Solar Eclipse...this one is just as the moon begins to move out of the center of the sun and creates a "Diamond Ring" effect. This was my favorite part of the experience of the eclipse. The totality had just lingered for approximately 2 min and 33 seconds and now this happens...just a grand example of God's great creation revealing itself once again.

August 21st, 2017 - a solar eclipse makes its way across the United States of America with my hometown being right in the middle of the 70 mile wide path. This photo is the eclipse at totality where the entire sun is 'blocked' or 'occulted' by the moon and creates this beautiful ring. Given the "once in a lifetime" nature of this event, I am grateful for the opportunity to experience this eclipse and to do it right down the street from my house.

The 400-year-old Renaissance castle was built by Christian IV which is located in the King’s Gardens in Copenhagen. It houses some of Denmark’s greatest treasures, not least the Crown Jewels and the Danish Crown Regalia. One of the great attractions is the Knights' Hall with the coronation throne. (Parkmuseerne)
Where I was positioned, I was intentionally under some trees to have a little shade on an extremely hot August afternoon in Tennessee. This resulted in a nice view, through the trees, of the few brief moments of 'totality' when the sun was completely occulted by the moon. It's not as easy to see in this photo as the previous versions but just as amazing at the same time...

This is Copenhagen most famous landmark. In 1837, Danish author Hans Christian Andersen published a faily tale about a little mermaid. About 70 years later, a Danish brewer attended the 'Little Mermaid" ballet and commissioned the water statue. (USA today)
Just a little while ago, right before the much needed shower that I just took, I saw grizzly sow #610 preparing to cross the highway. No one but me knew she was there and so I pulled over and waited, watching front and rear. Despite signs that warn of bear with cubs crossing the road people were coming around the curve 50 to 60 mph and when I saw her pop out of the forest I got out and flagged people to stop or slow down. Of course once they realized that they were witnessing the famous bear's daughter crossing the road, they were all too happy to be in the right place at the right time. They crossed, stopping to survey the people and traffic. I was about 100 yards away but the cub spied me and tried to stand up for a better look but then fell backwards and did a backward somersault in the road. The cub was might embarrassed but shook it off and went on. I, of course was laughing too hard to capture the next two shots in focus.
This is the story on this bear. I didn't see her at all for a long time and then one day saw her off at a distance. The next morning she crossed right in front of my car. That afternoon she crossed behind my car. The following day she crossed at my bumper (the shot from inside of the car as she passed the window). Then a couple of days ago she crossed in front of me again. Yesterday, or the day before she again came out of a thicket and crossed in front of me. The cub spied me out of the sunroof and stood up to get a better look (shots to come). Today she crossed behind me. Six times, five of them very close.
In the beginning, before I knew how things worked, I got out of my car, like many others, to take the photos. Now, 90% of the time I am out the sunroof. So, keep that in mind when you see photos in the coming days.
Too bad grandma wasn't there to see this. She has been MIA for three days.

We still can't get over this amazing experience we had in Cappadocia in Turkey. Who has done this? And if you haven't TAG SOMEONE who you want to do it with. #turkey #cappadocia #travelyourway #livelifetothefullest #amazingexperiences
So, she arrived today at around 10, and she's beautiful. I can't describe how excited I was, ever since her arrival, my heart has been with her all day long.
She's experienced many vicissitudes of her life, I can tell from her aged skin, but that couldn't cover her glorious. She's a bit complicated, took me all my lunch time to figure out what she likes and what she dislike. She's different, I couldn't handle her the usual way, I sometimes need to be tough, sometimes need to be gentle, but I think she likes me too, because once I got to know her better, she treated me so well.
Hasselblad 500 C/M, First Roll. Finished in 10 minutes.

Of course, it goes "eat, burp, nap." This one just sacked out right after lunch. G kept trying to reposition him for comfort but he'd fall back to this position.
