Long exposure photography can be challenging at times. The lighting, timing and just how long the exposure, can make a huge difference in the outcome.

As I was Driving home we both were hoping for a sunset to happen. It never really materialized but when we passed this spot on the highway I could see way off in the distance the setting sun was hitting the clouds above this mill making it look like a nuclear reactor was melting down or something. This was handheld above a fence that why the ISO is so high. Kris...

Limbering up some atop American mountain ash foliage

I have so many photos that I thought I had better start posting on a more regular basis.

We don't have a waterfall on the mountain (at least I have never found one lurking in someone's garden!), so in the absence of water this is a natural waterfall made up of Banksia Rose and Wisteria.

And no, this isn't Wisteria Cottage but another cottage on the other side of the valley where I live.

OK, you know me by now, I galloped round their garden as well. WELL, how was I going to get my shot!!!!!

Captured at Central Park in Roseville, Minnesota

The wide variety of dahlias are starting to bloom in Volunteer Park. A dahlia club tends to the garden and they will be in bloom for the rest of the summer.

This was the sunset shot I was looking for the whole trip. I got the shot of the arbutus trees just a half hour before and then this banger. What an evening!!! Kris

E' proprio vero che le caprette mangiano di tutto.... :-))

Definitely a curious nature in young opossums..here duly expressed.

When I feel the powerful visions

Their fire has made alive

I wish I had that instinct -- I wish I had that drive

Spirits fly on dangerous missions

Imaginations on fire

Focused high on soaring ambitions

Consumed in a single desire

In the grip of a nameless possession --

A slave to the drive of obsession --

A spirit with a vision is a dream with a mission...

We drove to the Central Coast, NSW, to visit my Father in Law, and as usual, I wandered up his street to see what flowers were out. The little insects were everywhere, including this little grasshopper.

Focus, Capture, Edit

As the sun began to set, the colors upon this duck became warmer. I locked on focus and the take-off began. The cool blue water contrasts well against the duck's brown feathers and orange legs.

The camera is used instead of the brush.

expresses it with the camera.

I want to take a photograph like a watercolor painting.

I want to express the picture in the photograph.

This image was created with an even balance in mind of all

four elements. Blue sky, mid green mountain, sandy dunes and deep green grass.

Photographed at Bruneau Dunes State Park, Idaho.

searches for the focus to cut one hair gently.

There is a reason why I use classic reversal film.

I like digital Camera. However, it challenges very difficult reversal film.

I want to establish the SATOSHI style.

This was a long exposure mixed with fog on the ocean. It was 27 degrees in Tacoma, WA this morning, but I was determined to capture this scene. A worn out bike suspended across two poles.

Resting on shore after its long journey is this old log on the WA coast. Pastel blue sky and the smooth waves surround the old driftwood log.

This is a long exposure technique used to smooth out the water and create a mist like effect, very calming and tranquil.
