The Nahuel Huapi National Park shelters countless natural nooks that show the beauty of the mountain range landscape. Los Alerces Cascade is one of these spots and everything from the tour to the very waterfall is enjoyed by us.
Before crossing the bridge over the Manso River heading for Mount Tronador (3,554 m / 11,660 ft), the tour takes the road on the left, which follows a picturesque circuit up to los Alerces Cascade.
With the eyes fixed on the mount and its snow-capped summit, the rubble road crosses thick cypress and coihue forests, typical of the area, and causes amazement with beautiful panoramic sights appearing behind every bend and slope.
From the top, the blueish green of Lake Las Moscas and its solitary beaches surrounded by green mountains may be observed.
Unexpected intrusions of beauty. This is what life is.

Saw this dazzling little beauty visiting the lovely purple salvia in my backyard in Southern California. Nature never ceases to amaze and inspire me, and it is these precious moments that bring me much joy and peace amid the many challenges of life. Hoping this sweet little hummingbird brightens your day as it did mine. :-)
As always, a huge thanks to those who stop by to view, fave and or comment! I am truly grateful.
Dear friends, I would like to dedicate this post to my dear friend, Bill, who not only was a wonderful and faithful friend for many years, but also an amazing photographer. He was one of a few friends who inspired and encouraged me to pursue nature photography. In fact, he was the one who first took me shooting hummingbirds. :-) Bill was a very kind and gentle soul, a beloved husband, father, teacher and friend. He passed away in a biking accident the morning after I posted this hummingbird. He will be greatly missed...
It always amazes me that this many birds can take flight without them all crashing into each other. But the move in sequence and then as one in the air.
MOUNTAIN SNAIL 😇. Nature always manages to amaze me, even in its humblest and most daily manifestations. Surroundings of Portacomaro, Piedmont, ITALY.

Vas'ka, who is sitting on the refrigerator, is amazed at the number of pigeons that have flown to the roof of the barn, where bird food is poured.
Thank you for visits, favs and comments. It's Greatly appreciated!
Utterly amazed, the tree looks at us humans in this late november.
Have they gone mad?
Hopefully better times will come soon.
"A fisherman and his son are out on the sea at night. His son falls asleep while his father continues to sail. Soon, though, a soft call from the waves catches his attention. Numb and entranced, he solemnly wanders to the edge of the boat, embracing how the waves take him under.
The son, after a few hours, wakes up to see his father gone. He frantically looks over to see if he's fallen, and sees a woman watching him from below. She is more beautiful than Aphrodite herself, and had eyes that soothed even the most frightening of creatures. She smiles, and begins to sing her tune to the child. However, no matter how loud she sang or how melodic her voice was, the boy just stared at her quizzically. Confused, she reaches to the surface, asking him if he can hear her. The boy stares back at her, unsure of what she's saying, and only replies with hand gestures.
The mermaid now understands why he doesn't follow her call: he is deaf. Sweetly, she holds her arms out towards him, touching his ears gently. The child felt her fingers almost vibrate, and soon the boy could slowly start hearing a low rumble. Then, the distant sound of the water moving to and fro reached his ears. He smiles, amazed that he can hear for the first time in his life. He gestures a thank you to his mermaid friend, and she simply smiles back.
The beauty of the deep begins her call once more, seeing the child become fastened still in place. His eyes glazed over, and began walking closer to his helper. The mermaid continues her lulling tune, and warmly holds the child close, before dragging him to the depths."
Gardens of Great Britain
This is a series of photographs taken in the many gardens we have visited over a long period time. It never ceases to amaze how many gardens there are and the variety they show, long may it continue.
Today’s contribution comes from Great Dixter, a garden we have visited quite a few times and never ceases to amaze. The planting is always brilliant.

Spiders always amaze me in just how much silk they can spin. Many areas of the wood are covered in silken shrouds that gleam in soft morning light. It is a bit concerning when you consider just how many there must be! Taken in Hillock Wood, Buckinghamshire.
Sir Walter Scott once described Glen Lyon as the longest, loneliest and loveliest glen in Scotland, how true he was, as near to the hamlet of Camusvrachan within the glen, lies a cluster of old stone cottages at Balmenoch where you can venture up Gleinn Da-Eigg and eventually encounter one of the glens most striking rock formations, “Fionn’s Rock” or “The Praying hands of Mary” This was my autumnal excursion to see and photograph them for the first time, and I was amazed at the beauty of not only the stones themselves but the view they commanded looking right down Glen Lyon itself. Spectacular to say the least.
It still amazes me that Starlings remain on the RSPB's red list. It seems like most of the UK's population have been in our garden this week. At times there have been too many to count!
I was amazed to see lupins growing wild in Scotland. I'd only ever seen them as a cultivated plant before.
This was something I wouldn't have believed if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes...this Black-crowned Night Heron was standing on the dock about 2' above water and I commented "what's it doing, it can't get a fish from that height" then it literally dove into the water head first completely emerging it's body and came out with this fish. We watched in 'amazement' as it proceeded to swallow the whole thing!
A moment of some sort of communication passes between the male and female - it may be as simple as the female indicating ‘hey! Move over and stop hogging the log’. Or it may be more complex. Tough to read exchanges between ducks. This glance lasted a second or less, and prone by the water I got lucky.
I had hoped that they might squeeze together somehow to occupy a common focal plane, but their engagement with each other is (in my opinion) enough to overcome some softness in detail on the male’s face.
The small flock of fall migrants that have given birders/photographers some excitement are beginning to move on. An afternoon watching the Wigeons occupy territory - they are not the greatest neighbours to other species, especially the Mallards - was a lot of fun, and their colours never cease to amaze. That is certainly true for me when I see the iridescent green speculum, visible here on the male.
This pair were the exception, as the flock included some eclipse males and some younger birds. But these two stuck together, and may well have been a breeding pair or were soon to be. Their breeding pattern is to establish pairs early and to be monogamous.
Though I came to observe this species on the lakes and rivers around Ottawa, I spent an afternoon walking around Stanley Park in Vancouver and was stunned to find a flock of fifty or sixty munching on some long grass like Mallards or Canada Geese. Context is everything.
The contrast could not be greater after the mist of Baguio , we visited the Philip-Ann beach resort , Anilao , Batangas Calabarzon on the island Luzon, Philippines
The song: I won't let the sun go down on me , is the theme song there.

The info:
Anilao is a quiet barangay on the northern coast of Mabini, a peninsula-municipality that separates Balayan Bay from Batangas Bay. Yep, it’s just a barangay. But Anilao’s popularity prompted resorts in neighboring villages to market themselves as also part of Anilao. These days, as far as tourism is concerned, Anilao is almost synonymous to the whole Mabini municipality.
Thanks to its proximity to Manila (only 3 hours away), it has become an ideal destination for divers, especially to beginners who may be a bit hesitant to travel to the far corners of the country for a first dip. The hidden wonders it keeps in its depths are no longer secret, but they continue to amaze curious souls.
It never ceases to amaze me how a little light changes a view. This of course is Looking Glass Rock once more, instead of sunset, or afternoon light I opted to travel down here at 4 in the morning, setup a composition slowly, painstakingly... and not to mention in frigid temperatures. Not that it was very cold as far as the ambient temperature's were concerned, no it was only 37f, not awful... No the real problem was the wind, chill you to the bone in moments. If you want shots like this, you have to wait, be patient, not let the weather dissuade you. Photography takes setup, concentration, and the forethought to bring gloves. [No, seriously, I desperately need to get some dedicated gloves for this.] I watched other photographers come, give up because the clouds were blocking the first rays of light from the sun, and that to me is tragic. Wait a bit longer, salvage the shot, and plan for next time. I presently am waiting for a thermal inversion at this location, but that is all about patience, and a bit of luck.

♫Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby, when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts, I can see your dreams
I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life with you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you♫

I was quite amazed to see this rainbow well after the sun had dipped below the horizon. It appeared to be in some very high virga as we weren't getting wet on the ground. I think this is the darkest rainbow I have witnessed.
Happy Nice Wonderful Clouds Tuesday!
I am always amazed at the freshness of new Hydrangea blossoms. They promise new beginnings, a fresh start, a new day.
"The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance.
The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you,
as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life.
You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose."
~ Arnold Bennett
These cactus flowers grow on the side of my house we don't really use, except for a shed... I didn't want anyone getting stuck with their needles... but when I looked out my door, I was amazed at how many blossoms I have with many more to come!
This specimen of Orthetrum cancellatum had to suffer some mishap to lose its abdomen and climb to the top of the pole.
On one occasion I saw how a wasp devoured the abdomen of a specimen of the same species, after falling to the ground and carrying it hooked on its body.
Photo taken in El Coto, a place that never ceases to amaze me.
It amazes me every year, when plants jump start the new season with a full blossom before they even create new leaves to start the energy gathering using photosynthesis.
It amazes me to think that the subtle, slow moving and constant forces of nature are seemingly always at work. Take an old railway track like this one where the force of nature has bent and changed the shape of this railway track. Simply Amazing.

I was amazed to stumble across half a block of mostly hidden abandoned row houses in the middle of north Detroit. The surrounding blocks are mostly empty now. Just vacant overgrown lots and dark empty buildings.
Taken at the beautiful Majesterium sim, thank you Crista for the special invitation..

Amazed to see this new house being constructed in a decidedly old-fashioned style. It's called a gambrel roof. A bit of the original is still standing to the rear and it appears that this will be clad with clapboards and have neo-classical trim and color. Perhaps the original was so riddled with termites that it couldn't be repaired. But the property with house is still too valuable to jettison. Whatever they do, in Berkeley it will recoup the expense!! People will pay anything to live here!
No consideration of a chimney in this re-build, because open fires are now against the law in Berkeley (bad emissions and working for better air).
HDM!
Happy Monochrome for Thursday!
